Digital games and stuff

I didn't wnat to quote the entire thing, but when I was saying two digital games on the 3DS and Vita, I thought you were looking at the games Metascore.  That's how many 3DS and Vita games had 80 or above, not how many digital games there were altogether.  Not going to argue with the rest.  Don't feel like it anymore since it's all opinion anyways.

That's still wrong.  Pushmo, Crashmo, Colors 3D, Cave Story, VVVVVV, Art of Balance Touch, Gunman Clive, and Mutand Mudds all scored above 80 on Metacritic.

You're right. I was assuming you were getting your numbers from Metacritic and only were using retail so I based my numbers off yours and assumed the others were digital.  Still not sure how I got  two and six, because it would have been wrong even from that.  If I minus two from 26 it comes to 24, you said 22 for 3DS, and six from 25 would have been 19, you said 16.

So yeah.  I really don't know how I got two and six :P.

I was being lazy and only skimmed through the list to count how many there were.  I didn't look at the games.

I think this is the wrong way to hype the Vita: lots of ports, HD collections, and multiplatform games. Vita will always lose to 3DS and PS3 if you go this route.

No, but some people, like me, may want or seek for different experiences on a handheld. And in this case, if I can have those games on my home console, I´d rather choose a handheld that provides me with different gameplay ideas, then, different games.

Of course, I just speak by myself. I know a lot of people who would love to continue playing their home console games on a handheld and for those, specially Ps fans, Vita is the thing to go. It´s a great device after all, but it may be not what every consumer wants.

This is something that happens with every console and every product. Heck, I even know people that are not interested in consoles anymore and only want to play games on a PC or on a tablet.

How ironic of you to say that...

Luigi's Mansion Game Cube ----> Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon 3DS

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Nintendo 64 ----> The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D 3DS

Mario Kart 64 Nintendo 64, Mario Kart Wii Wii, Mario Kart 8 Wii U ----> Mario Kart 7 3DS

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Game Cube, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn Wii ----> Fire Emblem: Awakening 3DS

Paper Mario Nintendo 64 ----> Paper Mario: Sticker Star 3DS

Animal Crossing Game Cube, Animal Crossing: City Falk Wii ----> Animal Crossing: New Leaf 3DS

Star Fox 64 Nintendo 64 ----> Star Fox 64 3D 3DS

Super Mario Bros ----> New Super Mario Bros 2. 3DS

...

It's simply amazing how many different experiances 3DS offers when compared to Nintendo's home consoles. Handhelds were always trying to do the same things that home consoles did; offer the same experiances while being portable. Finally we've come technologicaly far enough that we can have full home console games ported to handhelds. So please stop spinning that as something bad. At least now you have a choice what version you'll buy, and where you'll play it. And in SONY's case, many times you only need to pay once to get both versions.

No offense, but I see this as a list of reasons NOT to buy a PSV. It's all enhanced remakes of older PS2/PS3 games, PS3-PSV or 3DS-PSV multiplaftorm games, and lower quality spinoffs of main franchises.

The only worthy games on that list are Uncharted and Gravity Rush (and maybe Killzone if it's there)

Not to be a ass, but Nintendo offers more 1st party exclusive games on the 3DS then this list has in its entirty. How many Nintendo games are there on the 3DS now? 20? 30?

I bought a PSP last year, and I'm enjoying that for now. I might get a Vita at the end of life, I like to own every good game, and if Vita only has 2 or 3 good games, it's still 2 or 3 games I want.

Right now, if I were to buy a Vita, I would buy Uncharted, Disgaea 3 & 4, Gravity Rush, and Altleir Tortori and the sequel. 4 PS3 games, and 2 unique PSV games. For 3DS I already have over a dozen unique 3DS games planned to purchase (I just need an XL in a proper colour).

You raise a good point and that is why Sony is working on bringing all those japanese exclusives over.

Plus now I just founf out that Atelier Tortori Plus and its sequel are digital only, so I don't want it. So now my potention PSV collection is 2 unique PSV games, and 2 enhanced ports of PS3 games....

Please explain this one for me....

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

Mario Kart, Fire Emblem, and Animal Crossing offer vastly different experiences on handhelds then on consoles.

Fire Emblem on consoles is nowhere nearly as polished and good as it is on handhelds. Animal Crossing works on handhelds so well because it's designed for people to play 15-30 minutes a day. As for Mario Kart, I can't play handheld Mario Karts, it's just not right if it's not split screen.

...but who cares, but what you like. People are going to get a different experience playing Disgaea on PSV over PS3, and same with Killzone. While the core gameplay is the same, the setting can be better suited on handhelds (Disgaea and Fire Emblem are excellent examples on games better portable).

I like to own all my games retail, especially Japanese games for two reasons.

1. If I like it, I can shelf it when I'm done and admire it with all my other great games.

2. If I hate it, I can sell it and get most, if not all, of my money back.

- The only Digital games I buy, are PSN/Arcade games.

So it's a perception thing? Because every game is available over PSN, making them all PSN games.
