Forums - Microsoft - State of Decay is really good. Who is playing it?

Tagged games:

Ladies,

I just bought State of Decay, because I heard very good things about it and it was worth every penny so far.
I just finished my first session (2.5 hours) and it is a really cool game.

There are still a ton of things I have to check out first, but it is a mix between The Walking Dead, a tower defense game and a sand box title.
You should give it a shot, even though it is $20.

Who here is playing this game as well?
Any tips for a noob like me?

Thanks!

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

That's good to hear. Might check it out when the PC port releases. I think I saw news about that a few days ago (I didn't read the details). Is it anything like DayZ?

Better in my opinion.  It doesnt have coop or online play so that is disappointing.  Other than that it is better imo.  State of Decay 2 should have online though.

Enjoy your game when you get it :)

:O No online is surprising. I thought the game was built around that. But then again, I haven't watched much gameplay from it.

I would be surprised if it's better than DayZ though :O

Nah, no online this time.   What sets this apart from DayZ is that you can go in every building.  It really does bring out a sense of exploration. Also building a base and characters are great. The core mechanics is better in State of Decay imo but DayZ has online so it two different experiences.

While I don't care for online features, I can say that SOD gives you the sense of freedom reminiscent of GTA: San Andreas.
If you can overlook it's faults (glitches, some freezes, and bad car handling) you will think those $20 are the most well spent in years.
There's tons of ways to kill zeds and you have to select who do you want to be a part of the community. You can kill sick community members if you suspect they're gonna turn into zombies or (risk)wait for them to turn up good.

You choose your own home base, you choose what kind of areas you want to develop in it(watchtower, kitchen, dorms, etc...).
There's tons of guns,rifles,grenade launchers,melee weapons etc...
You have to play it to understand what I'm trying to say. GET IT NOW...
