great now after spending over £480 on DX 11.2 GPU's i now need to buy new GPU's that are DX 12 and no doubt windows 8.2 or windows 9, why couldn't microsoft bring out a new DX that can work on all current and past GPU's rather than new cards, Mantle works on GPU's released nearly 2 years ago, looks pretty much like its the same old MS BS.

Asus Z97I-Plus, i5 4790K @ 4.6ghz, EVGA GTX 980 ACX 2.0 1377/1853/124%, Corsair Vengence Pro 2400mhz 2x 8192mb, Corsair RM850, Corsair H80i, 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD, 750GB Seagate Momentus XT SSHD, 320GB Weston Digital HDD, Corsair 230T, Corsair K50 Raptor, HP XQ500AA mouse, Windows 10 Pro 64bit. iiyama Pro Lite G2773HS 120Hz 1Ms G2G gaming monitor.

It likely will be better than mantle.  DirectX has been huge even during the original XBOX days.  Xbox is actually named after DirectX.  DirectXbox.  This is why this is exciting news.  If it turns out well then not only PC gaming will improve but Xbox will likely improve as well.

I know what you are talking but ps4 gpu is 35-40% on paper but in real life only 20-nearly30% but if directx is better tahn we can expect 30-40% better perfomance which meains parity can be achieved.

Yes until sony has something under their sleeves similiar to new directx

Dont worry microsoft will most probably make it available for your gpu but I think you will need to have windows 8 or 9 I don't know about windows but I can say 99.99999% your gpu will support new directx.
