@Jay How's your Tales of Vesperia play going... You not liking it as much as some of us xD (I noticed you said something like how much longer is this).

i like it but its long and im ready for it to end now.  As i mentioned above I just killed alexia and im hoping it will be ending soon after this.

Guys I think my friend is an industry insider. If you remember their were threads regarding xbox one esram and I defended xbox saying parity can be achieved(1080p60fps wolf shooter) and keep an eye on next directx these all words from my developer friend. Now he says new directx to be shown at gdc is something similar to mantle and even better than that. So think of that tile resources if used correctly can do graphical advance things and now tih something like better amd mantle developers will be able to push xbox one.

Think of it
Xbox has a dedicated sound core(so if developers use it properly) we can see a new level of sound
Tiled Resources when used correctly will let you store big textures in small amount of esram.
Then new directx similar to amd mantle will push frame rate.
To put new directx in perspective. AMD said that mantle is 45% faster than directx but in reality it is 20-25% faster. But people reported that image produces by amd mantle was 4-8% weaker than directx but later dice said it was due to a bug later when bug was removed image was a little bit better on directx. If Microsoft is able to tackle this issue we can say games will get significantly better on xbox one.

What developers said after the new sdk they were easily able to 1080p but 60fps was tricky and not easy(sniper elite). Now with new directx developers will be able to 60fps we cannot say xbox one multi-platform games will look better than ps4 but both will start looking equal. Their are rumours that 5gb ram available to developers will
soon be 6gb if that happened developers ill have more ram compared to ps4 . This actually means
Xbox cpu>ps4 cpu
ps4 gpu>xbox one gpu (solution to this is the new directx from what i know ps4 gpu is 25-30% better if directx improves performance by 25-35% games will do look better on xbox one and 343 industries was able to halo from xbox360 now you can think with the power of cloud and better solutions what can they do with xbox one)
Ps4 ram=xbox one ddr3+esram.

After this I am going to post chat wit my friend regarding optimizing games for xbox one and power of cloud so stay tuned.

Guys go to oxm.co.uk they have a lot of stuff regarding indie games coming to xbox one I am too lazy to post the links and info so go check for yourself.

It likely will be better than mantle.  DirectX has been huge even during the original XBOX days.  Xbox is actually named after DirectX.  DirectXbox.  This is why this is exciting news.  If it turns out well then not only PC gaming will improve but Xbox will likely improve as well.

Oh god do not bring the cloud with gamers.... They are like people in the 19th century when they were told men could fly soon.... They think its ludicrous.... They forget to realize that 20years ago internet was just getting traction and 25 years ago it didn't existed outside of labs and concept trials (to summarize)... Same goes for voice command both will happen and eventually go mainstream... The question is not if but when...

I don't think we'll see parity... But I'm convince that if both console improve... Differences even if technically equal to today's gap will be less and less noticeable to the naked eye...

isnt the dreictx stuff exclusive to the one and windows thought i heard them mention something like that last year when they talked about tiled resroucses

Optimizing for xbox
ME:Xbox one cpu has 8cores which means more power compared to xbox 360 can cpu do any graphical calculations.
Friend &Me talk on this topic xbox one has 8 cores but only 6 are available same goes for ps4. He says both next gen cpu's are not powerful compared to previous generation. Cpu in xbox 360 can still be better than cpu in xbox one in some cases. But Microsoft has implemented a dedicated sound core which makes easier for developers to make use of cpu. I ask him is cpu in ps4 better than cpu in xbox one. He says he cannot comment in ghz but says if ps4 cpu would be powerful sony would be shouting everywhere we have a better cpu like they are doing with gpu. But dedicated sound core gives xbox one a upperhand.
ME:Ram problems
We both discuss esram is something not different to devlopers but he says gddr 5 is not the correct ram for cpu related calculations but sony has optimized the ram in a way that it works fine with cpu calculations. Microsoft chose ddr3 + esram solution is nice way to tackle situation but does not helps completely a multi-platform developer will not waste time optimizing his game for xbox one but first party developers will invest using the esram and tiled resources is something that Microsoft will improve and developers will start using esram fully. He says resolution is nothing but a small part of graphics. If a developers chooses to go for a high msaa he will opt for a lower resolution 900p but in future 1080p with higher msaa will be possible. What Microsoft did to tackle this issue was tiled resources ehich will get better in future and will let you store higher textures in small amount of esram.
Now we move to gpu he says ps4 gpu is clearly better but now when Microsoft announces that new directx xbox one gpu will have something to boost over With above given reasons developer will be able to do 1080p easily but due to smaller gpu 60fps can be a problem but new directx can improve performance and easily hit 60fps.
What is the use of cloud.
if a developer chooses to make an always online game he benefit a lot from cloud.
1st he can model all his characters, clothes, guns, weapons in cloud even lighting can be done in cloud which will provide developers a lot of power to be used on console. After that they can use cloud to handle ai other things can be done local on xbox one. Now if you know in a game their are lot of things which do not change think of it. In a game halo where most things in campaign remain same they all can be done in cloud but your internet bandwith is the problem. So small things like weapons, character clothes, ligthing can be done with a lower speed of internet.
So using all resources on xbox one makes it a superior console that thing time will only tell us but before that enjoy games and support xbox one

Itll most likely be W8 and W9 exclusive for PC. Since they also mention consoles, itll most certainly be on Xbox One.  Afterall DirectX is DirectXbox.  Though if it is implemented into XBO right away is a different story.  It also mentions phones/Tablets so Windows phones/Tablets are for sure going to be using it.

So pretty much any newer MSFT stuff will likely have the new DirectX.  Now whether MSFT lets other brandsuse it is a different story as DirectX is a bit of a perk for their products.
