During this time, AMD has developed their own set of APIs called Mantle. OpenGL/OpenCL has come a long way since then. Finally, Microsoft is making some announcement about their next generation DirectX platform at Game Developers Conference in March. Microsoft is promising better tools that will allow developers to squeeze every last drop of performance out of your PC, tablet, phone and console. Find the session info below. DirectX: Evolving Microsoft’s Graphics Platform For nearly 20 years, DirectX has been the platform used by game developers to create the fastest, most visually impressive games on the planet. However, you asked us to do more. You asked us to bring you even closer to the metal and to do so on an unparalleled assortment of hardware. You also asked us for better tools so that you can squeeze every last drop of performance out of your PC, tablet, phone and console. Come learn our plans to deliver. DirectX: Direct3D Futures Come learn how future changes to Direct3D will enable next generation games to run faster than ever before! In this session we will discuss future improvements in Direct3D that will allow developers an unprecedented level of hardware control and reduced CPU rendering overhead across a broad ecosystem of hardware. If you use cutting-edge 3D graphics in your games, middleware, or engines and want to efficiently build rich and immersive visuals, you don’t want to miss this talk. http://microsoft-news.com/microsoft-to-reveal-next-generation-directx-platform-at-gdc-in-march/ |
Nice find!
Hopefully this will be implemented well in XBO.
Funny, I think overall we have it overtracked, but for Feb so far we indeed have it undertracked.
US was 140k last month, February nearly always sees a good rise thanks to tax back, even last year when January was a 5 week month, WiiU and everything else still rose month over month.
Jan (5 week) (normalised 4 week)
WiiU: 57k (46k)
360: 281k (225k)
PS3: 200k (160k)
Feb (4 weeks)
WiiU: 66k
360: 302k
PS3: 262k
So I'm expecting 180k - 200k for XB1 in February (US).
VGC has XB1 trending for 137k in US for Feb, that's down month over month. very unlikely.
