I was actually rather scratching my head a bit at some of those leaks. More specifically that the guy said MS plans to release 4 games within 2-3 months of each other, in what will already be a packed fall/holiday season. I mean that just seems like it's got bad idea written all over it. One would think that the best move would be to space out your releases a bit. Not throw them all at you at once, especially during a time when everybody is throwing out their heavy hitters.

Because there was nothing wrong with it.  No further comment on the situation.  

Next Gears Following Roots and New Ip on Pause

Phil Spencer: Next Gears of War Probably Third Person, but Black Tusk’s IP “Paused” For the Right Time

Microsoft Game Studios head honcho Phil Spencer is probably the person that best knows what’s going on with the the next Gears of War on Xbox One, and with the studio working on it, Black Tusk. Today he took to Twitter to give a few more details on the whole issue.

First of all he responded to a user asking if the next Gears of War would be a strategy game, and luckily the answer was quite different:

I’d imagine we’d start with a building on the 3rd person roots of the franchise.

He also answered to a question about the possibility of Black Tusk’s own IP being scrapped in favor of Gears of War, mentioning that there’s still a chance for us to see something come out of it in the future.

We never really “scrap” anything we do, we might hit pause and wait for the right time but we keep all the work.

Hopefully we’ll hear more about that IP soon enough, but I wouldn’t expect much at least for a year or so. It definitely looked impressive when we saw the tech demo at E3, even if theoretically it wasn’t a game announcement.
