We'll see. I need to see if I like the base game first, y'know?

According to a key company exec, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) will be rolling out the Windows 10 on Xbox One beta preview sometime after summer.
The news comes straight from Xbox division boss Phil Spencer, who affirmed that Xbox One owners will be able to test out various functions of the new Windows 10 OS “post-summer”.
@dave125norco It will be post-summer.
— Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) May 19, 2015
Although we know it’s coming after summer, no official date has been set for the beta. The Redmond-based tech giant will assuredly unveil more Windows 10 plans during itsE3 2015 press conference on Monday, June 15th at 11:30 AM EST.
Like most new console additions and updates, Spencer affirms that Xbox One Preview Program members will get first access to the Windows 10 beta program when it launches.
Windows 10 is set to unlock a host of new impressive features for Microsoft’s all-in-one console while tethering the Xbox One to a unified ecosystem of devices.
Principle features include cross-platform game streaming from the Xbox One to PC’s, which has been described as a “killer app” with “zero lag” at Microsoft’s Build 2015 demo event, and app support to the console via the Microsoft Store.
With a dedicated assortment of “universal apps”–that is apps that are compatible across all Windows 10 devices–the Xbox One will have near limitless potential that could very well transform the console into a workspace asset rather than a machine made for just entertainment.
Being able to import and edit documents across devices with Smartglass or Windows 10 connectivity would be a huge advantage–but Phil Spencer has warned that gamers won’t see Excel on the Xbox One, and they’ll be adding app support “where it makes sense”.
Microsoft hasn’t revealed exactly which functions and features will be tested in the Windows 10 on Xbox One preview beta, but it’ll likely roll out new features in waves.
Xbox One Preview Program members also get first crack at DirectX 12 on Xbox One, but it’ll be a while before the API is ready for testing.

Well after trading in my PS4 + Vita and some ps3 games that have been gathering dust for 3-4 years I finally got my X1 up and running last night and used up 140 GB downloading on the 1st day downloading and installing MCC, Witcher 3, Destiny ( which i bought on gold offer before i got the console) Ori and the blind forest and a few other games I got through gold the past few months ready.
Even though im X1 ready i'm still working my way through the gears 1-3 achievement gaining marathon I set myself to do before I get rid of the 360 completely, My past few years on the PS3/4 side of things kinda made me become a completionist and made a new account to remove the 40+ games I had with only a few % on. :S

Woo Ori and the Blind Forest! I dont think many games are a masterpiece, but Ori is :) And im assuming youre preparing for Gears 4 XBO?
Wow that'a lot of downloading, I hope you don't have a cap :P ( all those games are worth it tho)
On the one hand I really really need to play the witcher, on the other hand I really really need to study for my final meh :(

I supose I am, Gears of War was the reason I jumped from PS2 - 360, I remember the day very clearly as I grabbed the bus to arrive at GAME 5 minutes before closing time on new years eve 2006 to pick up my 360 with Gears :D I have all the DLC for the games on my 360 from my old account and moving onto Gears 2 shortly.
I had been a massive jrpg fan throughout the ps1/ps2 era before picking up the 360 and making it my main console before going to ps3 for 2 years before ps4 which I kinda got dragged along the "buying a PS4 because my friends are wagon". Over the past couple of months I had be thinking more along the lines of getting a X1 sometime and eventually decided "Hell I own a PS4 and I couldn't care an ounce about Sony's E3 show" I was actually looking forward to more Xbox Exclusives desping not own and X1.
After all that I looked at it logically and though most of my fun the past 7th generation was from the Gears of War, Fable and Halo series' and thought I need to get an Oxox One.
