Angelus said: How can anyone be excited for Battlefront? I'm asking this genuinely btw I mean....no space battles, and only 4 planets for locations man....how on earth can they justify that for game that will have been in development for like 3 years and doesn't even have a campaign taking up time and resources? Just a terrible terrible effort if you ask me. |
The lack of space battles is disappointing for sure, but the fact that they brought back bot matches from the original games makes up for it imo, I was really worried that it'd be multiplayer only beforehand.
As for 4 planets, also dissapointing, but one of those planets (Sullust) is new to the series which is a plus, and there will be a 5th planet coming a few weeks later that is free. I'm sure that there will be a season pass (which I'll be able to get a discount on thanks to EA Access), which will likely include the other maps from the original games (Bespin, Yavin IV, Dagobah, Death Star, etc.) as well as more new planets from Episode 7.
As for it not having a campaign, that's debatable, what DICE is designing basically sounds like the campaign from the original games, so if the new game doesn't have a campaign the original games didn't either.
Ultimately Battlefront just sounds less dissapointing than Black Ops 3, and I need a 2nd multiplayer shooter to go alongside Halo 5 this year.

It's nice that bot matches make up for lack of space for you. Definitely does no such thing for me. I expect new games to evolve what their predecessors did, not remove large junks then expect me to be happy about whatever is left over. Other things that are apparently missing here btw include pretty much any prequel movie content. Pathetic.
As for your point about locations, I'm well aware of DLC ppossibilities but that absolutely does not factor into a $60 game's worth at launch. Ya of course they can add stuff with DLC. Doesnt justify having so little content at launch. In fact I find it highly suspect. EA Access discount or no, you're still gonna have to pay a bunch more money.
I agree the past Battlefront games didn't exactly have campaigns either, but that wasn't my point. The point is, considering they didn't have to focus any real attention to having a proper campaign, it makes the lack of content in other areas even less acceptable. They've scaled literally everything back from Battlefront 2, and seemingly added nothing new to the mix besides prettier graphics. How is that possible? Did they even try?
