Most likely because Superman trashed Metropolis in his fight with Zod.

lol No idea. It'll be interesting to see the plot of the story..  superman did messed up the city as thegoldenboy said above.

And everybody complained about the Ben Affleck casting. I told people then that he could pull it off and I still think that he can after watching that teaser trailer.

Yup, he definitely look badass in  the trailer.
