Celebrate Gaming with April’s Double Games with Gold Month

ou might think April’s the perfect time to joke around – but we have no intention of doing that here at Xbox. Instead, we want to take a moment to appreciate you, the Xbox gamer. Over the course of the Games with Gold program, more than 100 milliongames have been downloaded, with over 5 billion Gamerscore earned. That’s countless hours in the shoes of iconic heroes like Master Chief from Halo Reach, Lara Croft fromTomb Raider, Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher 2, and many others all free with your Xbox Live Gold membership.

Above all, we want to celebrate our fantastic Xbox Live community this April, and that’s why we’re so pleased to announce that Games with Gold will offer double the free games for April That means Xbox One gamers get two awesome new titles, and Xbox 360 gamers get a whopping four games! So invite your friends and clear your calendar for gaming! Here’s what we’ve got:

Pool Nation FX ($9.99 ERP): Available all month on Xbox One
Child of Light ($14.99 ERP): Available all month on Xbox One
Gears of War: Judgment ($19.99 ERP): Available from April 1-15 on Xbox 360
Terraria ($14.99 ERP): Available from April 1-15 on Xbox 360
Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag ($29.99 ERP): Available from April 16-31 on Xbox 360
Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel ($19.99 ERP): Available from April 16-31 on Xbox 360

In the first part of the month, Xbox 360 gamers get the Gears of War: Judgment, as well as the open-world Roguelike TerrariaGears of War: Judgment takes players back to the immediate aftermath of Emergence Day, the defining event of the Gears of Waruniverse. The fate of the world rests on the shoulders of a young COG lieutenant, Damon Baird, and his team – Kilo SquadIn addition to an intense campaign that pits you against a horrifying new enemy, Gears of War: Judgment also introduces two class-based multiplayer modes, OverRun and Survival that add an exciting twist for fans of great cooperative multiplayer gaming.

On the other side of the coin, Terraria is a seemingly peaceful little romp through a limitless sandbox world, in which you must guide your alter ego to survival by exploiting their environment. Dig for metals, craft with what you discover, build incredible dwellings, and battle enemies of all shapes and sizes in Terraria’s seemingly endless possibilities. Work together with your friends to build your personal fortress then turn on PvP to either duke it out or takedown bosses in co-op.

Later in the month, Xbox 360 gets two more titles: the co-op shooter Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel, and the historical stealth-action epic Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. If you haven’t played it yet, Black Flag is a swashbuckling fantasy set in the Caribbean during the Age of Sail, which adds ship-to-ship combat and plenty of exploration to theAssassin’s Creed stealth-and-action recipe. Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel is a third-person shooter that focuses primarily on cooperative gameplay. It pits you and a buddy against a ruthless drug cartel called La Guadaña, in a pulse-pounding series of missions that see the two of you face off against a literal army – and live to tell the tale.

For Xbox One, Games with Gold offers two excellent games in April: Child of Light andPool Nation FX. Nominated for “Best Overall Game of 2014” by IGN, Child of Light is an RPG inspired by fairy tales. The story takes us on the coming-of-age journey of Aurora, the daughter of a duke, who is transported to the fantastic world of Lemuria. During your journey, you’ll meet enemies in classic turn-based combat, solve puzzles, and search for mysteries.

Pool Nation FX is a slick new take on the billiards genre, offering photo-realistic graphics, an absolutely spot-on physics engine, 12 different rule sets including the exclusive Trickshot Editor and the unique rule set customization tool, for ultimate personalization; alongside all the learning aids and professional difficulty levels you could want to help polish your game. Plus, it’s got online multiplayer, so you can take your skills worldwide.

This April is about celebrating great games played by the greatest fans in the world – and we’ve given you the ammo to do that. Now get out there and start playing! Check out the full details on our Games with Gold program, and make sure you get in on the action while you can!

Titles are available as free downloads for a limited time, for qualifying paid Xbox Live Gold members in all markets where Xbox Live is available. Some regions may offer different titles depending on market availability. See Major Nelson’s blog for additional details.

-______- @ Xbox One games. MS really refuses to put anything good on Xbox One's GWG

Edit: Child of Light is great I just mean something that isn't a small title though. Like they're really trying to milk every sell out of games like Ryse and DR3

No its not. I was interested in fable legends cuz me and my bro can play together but this is a game I don't want to go to pc. Those reasons about why it's better could be listed for every single game. Doesn't make it better. Even if it wouldn't have been as big, it made an Xbox one a while lot more valuable to people. I've seen a lot of things about people only liking killer instinct so far out of the XBO exclusives or it being a main reason to buy the console. Also keeping it exclusive would have made the Xbox one a bigger name in the fighting community.

Can you give one non fanboy reason why Fable Legends being on PC makes it anyless enjoyable to play with your bro?

I think he meant he is happy about it being on PC since he can do cross platform play with his bro.

Yeah, don't even know how you misinterpreted that versus xD. Another reason why pc is good because I always thought the villain part would be better on pc. Killer instinct doesn't have those, I can play with him on my XBO, just as well as I could if we have cross platform play and I the contrils would be just as good too

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

Dude, did you really have to quote the whole thing?

Oh and Child of Light > Ryse/DR3

Haven't played Ryse yet but I agree it's better than DR3. I would have been okay with Ryse & CoL but why did we have to get some fucking pool game -_-

Hell why not put Black Flag as the Xbox One game instead of the pool shit and then put something like Banjo-Kazooie to replace Black Flag for 360. It's a cheap title they can give away without losing anything out of it but still one that tons of people would enjoy playing/replaying.

I really don't mind if MS starts doing more of these F2P games like Project Spark, Fable Legends and this new Halo thing. These kind of games fit the PC. Then they can port over certain games that aren't big system sellers like Forza and even Halo MCC (It's not gonna do much more for the Xbox One at this point) but keep their big guns exclusive to the Xbox One at least for a few years. Things like Halo 5, next Gears of War, Sunset Overdrive and so on.

I'd like if the f2p Halo game made it's way to Xbox.
