Nice list Shikamaru and dear God if it's something stupid, or troll bait worthy, I'm never listening to Gameinformer ever again; be like white noise to me.

Went to N4G (ugh...) to check some of the comments. Here's some of the games listed...:
Crash Bandicoot...
New Batman game
Fallout 4
COD Blops 3...
Red Dead sequel
Devil's Third

And for the lols...
"A fully completed game that doesn't require massive patches." xD

^So you still think that the Xbox One will sell less than 282k worldwide in January Joe? That's a tough bet considering the Xbox One just sold 290k this week according to VGchartz. Personally I'm expecting at least 100k per week average for January, might be a bit high but we'll see.

Haha yeah it sounds crazy to say the next four weeks combined will be less than this past week. I made the prediction almost a month ago before we had any meaningful data though. If I'm wrong by some hilarious amount I'll be a good captain and stay aboard my sinking ship.

I think the most telling piece of info we have is tha the 360 sold over 600k in January and the Xbox One has outsold the 360 every week thus far except for the first week of December. The Xbox One's January might be lower than the 360's, but I think it'll be close.

Well if you want to go down this road, I'll be honest and I'll say i still believe in my prediction. Th 360 did over 700 thousand last January. However it's down yoy by a lot. The 360's 2012 Dec was just under three million while its 2013 Dec was at one and a quarter million. XBONE does look like it had a better month, but neither is going to be close to 700k in Jan.

The Wii U is actually the source of my prediction. It sold 282k in Jan last year, so I bet the XBONE would do worse. One big supporting stat is that the Wii U had a much better first Dec than the XBONE. It did about 1.8 million units compared to the XBONE's 1.3. It really all depends on how big the XBONE's post Christmas drop off is.

I came here because you had Sunset Overdrive in the title. I didn't realise you were posting some forum posts I saw in July :(

Still, really interested in seeing some gameplay footage. Going to try and convince my friend with an XBO to pick it up when it comes out if it turns out good. When Insomniac get things right, they get they really, really right. And Into the Nexus was great so maybe they're on the upswing again!

I didnt realize that until you said something lol  It showed up for this weeks news for me when i was searching for Sunset Overdrive  information.

And I agree.  Im waiting for gameplay until i say if im excited or not.  I like Insomniac so that is why ive had my eye out for it.  Ratchet, Resistance, and Spyro was great.  I didnt play Fuse so i cant comment about that.

Was Nexus great?  How would you compare it to Crack in Time?  I havent got to play it yet but Crack in Time and Kameo was my two favorite platforming action/adventure games last generation.  Even more so than Mario Galaxy.

I was actually refering to the 360's first January, not the 360's January 2013, I should have clarified that, sorry. Here is a comparison of the Xbox One's launch versus the 360's created by superchunk:

Nov 3 Nov 4 Dec 1 Dec 2 Dec 3 Dec 4 Jan 1 Jan 2 Jan 3 Jan 4 Jan 5
360 351 94 337 166 134 96 117 147 144 110 96
Xbox One 1132 457 277 335 388 291

The Xbox One has outsold the 360 every week so far save for the first week of December. Now of course the 360 likely had less stock available than the Xbox One, but still it looks like the Xbox One is heading into a decent January. December Week 4 sales are especially telling imo, 291k X1 versus 96k 360.  Another point in the Xbox One's favor is that the 360 had a software drought in January and February and still sold decent numbers both months, while the Xbox One has a few games coming in January and February, notably Tomb Raider, Plants vs. Zombies, and Thief.

Hmm, I have my doubts XB1 can sell 500k+ in January, that'd need a 300k NPD at the least, we'll see!

Looking at past Januarys for 360, I definitely doubt it. I expect 300k WW for XB1.

Just before Christmas, James Vale - art director on Fable Anniversary - posted up a blog on the Fable forums detailing some of the visual changes that have been made to the game to bring it up to today's HD standards.

"Obviously, it's 10 years ago since the original box version was released," Vale began, "and technology has moved on an awful lot in those years, so you'll see many improvements. We have used Unreal 3 for the rendering side which has much improved Lighting, Materials and Effects than the original Fable engine, some of which I will go into when looking at the images below."

Vale then posted up two side-by-side comparison shots, accompanied by bullet points explaining some of the changes that have been made thanks to advancements in technology since the original Fable's release.

"We upped the polygon count quite significantly for all the in-game models, which means the model edges and silhouettes look much smoother," he revealed.
"The way materials work and look in games has been significantly improved since 2004. By including Specular Maps (for determining how shiny a material appears), and setting specific values within a material we can now visually distinguish much better between material types."

Vale went on to explain that extra light sources were added for interiors, "to create a better lit and more visually appealing environment." On top of that, dynamic shadow casting was added to several key light sources, including interior fireplaces.

Moving on to exterior locations, Vale wrote that many more polygons and much larger texture detail were added to trees, "especially the Oak trees, to give them a much more lush, fuller feel/look." He added that when close up, bark details on trees are much more detailed than in the original.

"We have a longer draw distance on assets in Anniversary," Vale continued. "The draw distance is the distance at which objects will appear in a scene. The reason for having draw distance is that if everything in a scene were visible ALL the time, the frame rate would be terrible.

"You can see that the bridge on the left in the distance [in the shot from Greatwood Lake] is not visible in the original and there are also trees not visible on the horizon. All these assets are visible in Anniversary at this distance. Shadows have a longer draw distance too."

The whole article is definitely worth a peruse, to see how far we've come in the space of just a few short years. I had a quick hands-on with Fable Anniversary at Gamescom - read my first impressions through the link. Incidentally, searching for that link dredged up this picture of a grumpy me playing the game over on the Fable forums, so as you can see, I'm definitely not lying about having played it.
