I have no idea why but when you record things on DVR on XBO they look bad. Once you put them on the skydrive the quality increases a lot. Still not amazing but much better

Thanks for the Fable MMO peek Jay. Looks pretty good actually. At least a prequel will mean a return to bows and the pic seems to show staffs. Hope it doesn't get overhyped. Lionhead sound pretty psyched.

I see Lost Odyssey is no. 1 on the wishlist for a return/sequel on X1. I don't hold out much hope though.

A couple questions about 3rd party gear for X1. I'd be interested in some kind of chat pad or qwerty keyboard to make it easy to use the browser for sites like this. Obviously they're hoping to push a lot of their surface phones and pads but another $325 is not in the works right now. Suggestions?

I'd also like a larger controller and I wonder if/when someone will make one down the road? I've pretty well adjusted but I was disappointed the new controller felt smaller than the 360's. The old original xbox controller was more comfortable to me. If anyone has any idea how long stuff like this takes before it becomes available please let me know. I assume M$ will make it hard to do wireless 3rd party for proprietary reasons and the new tech would be harder and more expensive to duplicate. Which companies made decent ones last gen? Etc. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't like a Lost Odyssey 2. I'd rather have an spiritual sequel with a different name, same universe.

Lost Odyssey 2 had a closed ending, no need to push it further. Besides, a direct sequel would mean we have Cooke and his sister being grown-ups now, while Jansen is an old dude, and I don't want that >_>

Sorry, I should have explained what aliasing is. Aliasing is jagged edges on lines in video games. Anti-aliasing is a process used to smooth out those lines. This picture highlights the difference that anti-aliasing makes:

Aliasing is most noticeable along thin lines like chain link fencing, power lines, and cables as is evidenced by the jagged lines along the cables in that picture.

Personally I can't stand aliasing in games, I'd rather have anti-aliasing than 1080p or 60fps, but so far many developers this generation are going for 1080p and/or 60fps because they're next-gen catch terms, but they're doing it at the cost of no anti-aliasing in some cases. I'm just wondering if Turn 10 sacrificed anti-aliasing for 1080p/60fps, because in some of those youtube videos I'm seeing lots of aliasing, in others I'm seeing very little aliasing, so I'm trying to find out which of those videos is the closest to the actual game.

To answer your original question it really depends on what track you are (they have varying amounts of Aliasing). But overall it usually ranges between moderate and extreme. It is annoying at times but overall the game still looks very good.

Well that would explain the variation I was seeing on Youtube then. I'd assume that it's the larger tracks that have more anti-aliasing, since rendering the longer draw distances is more resource intensive? Thanks for the answer. I'll probably get the game once it's price drops and once Microsoft adds support for more resolutions (because I don't want to see such a gorgeous game wrecked by looking all squished up on my 1280x1024 monitor).

I really hope that developers start prioritizing anti-aliasing soon, we've reached a point where the graphics are so good that aliasing sticks out like a sore thumb. It's not like anti-aliasing is as resource intensive as it used to be (back then 2x SSAA halved your framerate), there are methods like FXAA and SMAA nowadays that only lower your framerate by about 13%.

Yeah I agree, I would prefer to have much less aliasing than 1080p resolution on that game. Heck I had Forza 5 up and running on my HD computer monitor (which makes games look better) and had Forza Horizons on my big TV and the visual difference in game was minimal at best. In fact, for environments, I would say that Horizons looks better (and more consistent). Car models in Forza 5 are so much better though but the aliasing that's going on (that isn't in Horizons) really detracts from the game looking as good as it could.

@Ryuu96: Wow I am impressed with Project Spark...it's just so versatile.

Wow lol Some of the comments, Some people are so in denial that it's a good game especially the comment "This Review was bought to you by Microsoft" Lol, Hopefully they review the game again when the next season comes out with more characters and story mode but I doubt they will

It's like that for nearly all Xbox videos, we're used to it though.

Because they're being streamed when you watch them on XBO. When they're on your computer then they're actually saved at 720p.

Yeah, Fable Legends is sounding pretty awesome. The only thing I don't like is that there are predesigned characters that you choose from, I don't know why they don't just let you create your own character like most RPG's. But at least we can customize the appearance of the predesigned characters, even if we are stuck with their skillsets.

I was one of the people that voted for a Lost Odyssey sequel/spiritual successor on Xbox One. I don't know if it'll happen or not, but I'd say that there's a decent chance that Mistwalker will develop some kind of game for the Xbox One, afterall, their top 2 bestseling games were Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey on the 360.

I too want some kind of chat pad. I think they may release a touchscreen add-on for the bottom of the X1 controller, they increased the speed of that bottom port for some reason. It would be awesome to have access to smartglass features on such an add-on, plus you could use it to type messages, browse in-game menus with touch-controls, etc.

I agree that a larger Xbox controller would have been nice. The most comfortable controller to me was the Original Xbox S controller as well. I'd love it if somebody designed a 3rd party Xbox One controller that had the shape and size of the original Xbox controller with all of the additional features of the Xbox One controller (including those impulse rumble motors). I doubt it will happen though, but maybe we'll get lucky. I'd guess we'll be waiting at least a year for such a controller.

I think we'll get a decent amount of MMO style games on X1.  Especially if Destiny is a success.  I hope Mistwalker give us something similar to LO.  I liked the battle system with the interactive rings almost like Tomb Raider and the characters and music were great.

So about a year and then I'll start looking for controllers.   That's about what I expected.  Maybe surface tablets or something in M$'s new line of phones will be down around $200.  I could handle a contract for the right device.

Thanks again.
