Is it a different beast or if you were told you to refer Half life to which game will you refer.

I haven't played Half Life either. Probably won't ever.

You guys should really play them. I played both games less than 2 years ago thought the games were fantastic even though they are kinda old. The story is just very good. You can get them really cheap if you buy the Orange Box game.

Then play it Murph! You won't get many achievements but the game is excellent and it comes with both episodes for HL2 which are also really good.

The Orange Box has Half Life, Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1 and 2, Portal, and a multiplayer game called Team Fortress.

Definately worth a playthrough if you haven't played the games before. TF2 is most likely dead though, on consoles.

Yes you are right, my mistake. Wow, then that means I've never played the first one :0 . This whole time I though I did :S . 

Well, games like BioShock and F.E.A.R are similar to Half-Life 2 in terms of atmosphere and maybe gameplay as well!
