Does that mean that it will come but from another studio so that they are so far away from releasing it? They were never farther away since there was always the possibility that they will release a new one but now with another studio working on it, they won't do it obviously

Edit: just realized that Rare only retweeted it and didn't tweet it by themselves lol. But still...

I think they retweeted it for a reason.  It is the 2nd time that Battletoads has been brought up recently. It wouldnt be a hug game so it wouldnt be out of the ordinary if it was rare working on it, but Ruffian has hinted at a nostalgic game.  So Ruffian is probably the #1 suspect if Battletoads is in fact being developed

I've heard a lot of rumours about Battletoads recently but I've never heard of it before then. Was it good? What kind of game was it?
