Maybe the poll can be "which launch game are you looking forward to the most?"

Around the Network

So I have a question about Xbox One that I don't think I've seen anybody even ask anywhere yet.

As some of you know, I live in Germany. Buying games here this gen, that would often restrict me to only German (and maybe French) as the available languages on many games here, which is why I would mostly choose to import from the UK (plus it's cheaper there anyway). However, it would be highly inconvenient if I had to order launch games from the UK, and wait an extra 2 days after getting my X1, just to be able to play games in English. Now, I'm very much hoping that Microsoft will let me select whatever language I want when downloading a game from the marketplace, much like Steam does....but has anyone heard of them even mentioning this?

I don't wanna be sitting there on the 22nd, super annoyed because I have to play through Ryse listening to annoying German voices.

Ryse is the best looking console game we've seen - ArabicGamers: http://www.arabicgamers.com/news/2952/preview-ryse-son-of-rome

Man you go digging far nsanity...

@angelus i'm surprised you don't get English in Germany...

I wonder if you can get QR code from amazon UK and scan it with Kinect... that would be cool...

Jeez, so much for my potential plan on going digital on the Xbox One. Those game sizes are huge! -_-

How many games do you plan to play concurrently? It's not as bad as I initially thought!

I'm a bit of a pack rat when it comes to software. My PC is currently loaded with tons of games I haven't played in years or haven't played at all. xD

I guess it might not matter as much though if you're able to manage what you do/don't play and get rid of the junk you don't need anymore. Now that I think about it though, doesn't XB1 allow you to play as you download? I would definitely not mind digital as much if I could play a game as I download it.

It does but from what I hear it takes a little for some games (COD). Still by the time you get to an average of 20/25 games external harddrive support should be available so you should be fine?

That's true, forgot about external as an option. I guess I should be good then, it really depends on me just making the mental change at this point. I still haven't done it fully on Wii U yet, but that might change as time goes on.

Well we're all in the same boat, every disc game auto installs, no getting away from it! Basically I'd say only buy boxed games if you really love to keep a collection or want to lend/sell back your games. Otherwise going digital offers the benefit of instant swapping!

Don't forget that buying digital means no sales tax.

It depends on where you live. I live in Minnesota and I have to pay sales tax on digital downloads (or rather the money cards I buy to pay for digital games on the Xbox).

Why don't you switch the console to English settings? That's what I do to avoid most games's horrible Spanish voices because they switch to English (It would be far easy if they just simply give you the choice to put the original voice).

Entirely games in Spanish (or in German, in that case), well, you're screwed. You'll have to import. I doubt Microsoft would bother sending language packs. That's up to the developer.

I do have the console set to english but unfortunately for some games that doesn't do the trick ^^
Deus Ex Human Revolution, Dishonored, Crysis 2 & 3.....

I can understand not putting all the languages on every disc, but I was thinking maybe letting you choose the language if you download from the marketplace would be good.
