Ok, I found one source saying that the arcade game for May is Dust: An Elysian Tail, hopefully that's true since I've heard good things about it and haven't played it yet. Let's just hope there's a nice AAA game to complement it.

While short (I 100%'d it in like, 8-10 hours), it is one of the best arcade games to date. There's multiple references to other arcade games like Braid or Super Meat Boy, crude humor referencing known franchises (like Wall Chickens, from Castlevania) and plenty of jokes and easter eggs; that combined with a good story (not amazing writing, but not bad by any means) and a very solid gameplay with simple but brutal combos. Likeable and pleasant art style, and great characters.

And the fact that the game was made by a single person is even more amazing.

So apparently Child of Light won't be out today after all. At least not on the Xbox One store. I was looking forward to downloading it this moment, but no such luck. Instead I aewake to find that shitty looking Spiderman game, that wasn't even supposed to come out on X1, in the store.

The release date is the 30th

Not in the US it isn't. An according to GameStop it will be available today on pretty much every platform except X1. Even Wii U is getting it today according to them

I see absolutely nothing online saying that. Everything I see says the 30th

Even the latest IGN review says April 30th

http://www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=16k-3-child+of+light,28zu0

http://www.gamespot.com/child-of-light/

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/video-games/editorials/reviews/11364-Child-of-Light-Review-Light-Entertainment

I could show more, but basically a ton of places show release date as the 29th

Edit: And when was the last time a game came out on a Wednesday in the US anyway? They always release on Tuesdays over there

Maybe its just Last Gen + Wii U versions?

http://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/child-of-light-ps4 PS4 version still says 30th but PS3 version says out now

Maybe. Just makes no sense.....

Anyway, a disappointing start to the day

Ya there appears to be some conflicted messaging.

A lot of people on neogaf say they're already playing it though. Clearly people have been able to download it on some systems

This is good news Dust: An Elysian Tail is my second favourite arcade game( behind Scott pilgrim and ahead of castle crashers), so hopefully it will now get more exposure increasing the chance of a sequel to the game when the creators finished the movie he's working on.
