Good news. Wish I could pick one up at launch.

You can just say well done ;)

He said the numbers are shipped, which they always are and include digital downloads, which they always do. How is this bad? I would be happy if we had more posts like that. |
WHA?!
Kowenicki is asking why people can't just give congratulations rather than just saying "Not surprising."
So I link to him a post of his doing the very thing he condemns.
I never said the post is bad, but apparently Kowen thinks it is.

You see what you want to see I guess.
*BTW how can I delete quote trees easily?
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Links to those predictions? Ive always thought the general consensus was that it would have a great start, at least in America and the UK, but not sell nearly as well as the 360 worldwide lifetime? |
There's a lot of naysayers on VGC. But they usually do these hit and run posts.
Most regulars here believe the console will do well. But that the PS4 will outperforms it from the get go.
It shall also be noted that pre-orders numbers don't indicate a sure success. Beating the original XBox 360 PO numbers isn't much of a feat. That console came after a console that didn't have that big a userbase. In XBO's case, the 360 managed to create a really big core base, and pre-orders are always mostly composed of those core fans.
Still, well done.

LOL, you amaze me.
In that case, you just obliterated your own post "Why can't people just say well done". Because apparently, when people said "Not surprising", that means people actually are "complimenting" the Xbox One. So they are saying, "well done". Apparently they mean this is expected because Microsoft makes a great product..
...per your logic.
You lose Kowen. I suggest you abandon this thread forever to avoid any further shame. And in the future, know that you should word your posts more carefully. Because I'll be lurking in the shadows, watching... waiting for your to slip up. And when you do...I will pounce.

WHHAAAATT?!?!?!
This is not how I want to see it. Trust me, I don't want to see a once respected legend fallen to such lows. But this is the way it is.
I only posted FACTS, no opinions or analysis. Kowen asked "Why can't people just say "well done" in reference to the posters above him which all say they aren't surprised. I link to him a post of his doing the very same thing. I don't even give an opinion on it, so there's no room for personal feelings or anything. Just FACTS!
Explain to me how I'm seeing it how I want by posting FACTS and PROOF.

To be fair you are putting words in his mouth. He never said anything about people saying "surprising". He said things about "yeah but". They are different words and phrases.
@OT - It really isn't surprising and I believe MrStickBall said it best. In 2005 pre-orders was not nearly as popular as they are today. This is partially because the Internet is a lot more popular in 2013 than it was in 2005. Now you can pre-order anytime anywhere and you have news everyday about consoles.
It has also been pointed out that pre-orders does not equal all time sold. PS3 and WiiU both had record breaking numbers back then but then struggled after the holiday and launch window period.
While this is great news people really should not be arguing about it from either side.
