60 Million is reasonable, yes. As is 40 Million.

Nothing is guranteed. Look at the PSP to PSV drop. Look at the Wii to Wii U drop. Look at the PS2 to PS3 drop. When things dont go your way, anything can happen.

I'm more interested in the first two years of sales. Pre-Order numbers are fairly meaningless, or else the Wii U would be selling like hotcakes. The hardcore dedicated will purchase, but what will the mainstream consumer do?

There is more ways to Pre-Order and definitely far more pressure to do so now then there was in 2005. Also the Xbox install base is much higher then it was back when.

You said you were happy now to be on the winning team, I still don't understand that statement. The Xbox is no dounbt going to sell well in the US, winning hasnt been confirmed yet as it has never won there before. 

I preordered my 360 and I preordered my Xbox One. I didn't notice any difference in difficulty to preorder.

Nobody has won anywhere, relax.

That could still happen. Pre-orders mean nothing in the long run. Just ask Wii U.

I'm glad for the Xbone (the more the industry grows, the better), but how does this show it's outpacing the PS4? All it says is in reference to the 360 its pre orders are higher. I do think the Xbone will, at least for a year or two, outpace the PS4 in the US, but I’m struggling to understand how this confirms that :/ or am I missing something? 

Does this surprise anyone? I'd be more shocked if it isn't selling out at major retailers lol.
