Forums - Gaming - Steam summer sale: What have you bought?

As I play on a old pc, I can only buy "weak" games

Orcs must die 2 complete edition
Tropico 4 collector's edition
Hero Academy (worse purchase ever made on steam)
FieldRunners 2

All for slightly less than £15
If my PC strength was no object, I would have bought Alan Wake complete edition and Fallout New Vegas complete edition (even though I already own it on ps3)

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Not much since my PC is a bit older and I'm primary a console gamer

Hotline Miami for $2.50 (which I just beat, excellent game although I don't like the story much. Either way excellent game for a indie title. Loved almost every minute of it.)
Organ Trail: Director's Cut $1.50 (Can't say no to $1ish games. Great throwback, tough as nails to. I have yet to beat it.)
System Shock 2 $2.50 (Hasn't aged as well, but needed to own this classic).

Last year I just bought Torchlight 2 and The Witcher 1. So I guess I bought more this year. I'll be buying more titles if something good comes out for $3 or less.

That is my problem as well. I actually think that Steam is a great idea. I just cannot play any games on this laptop.

Indie games work really well in that regard. Actually the PC is only 4 years old and I can run Guild Wars 2, just not a lot of the recent games at decent speed. I've seen a PC around 7 years still run a lot of the indie games well, especially Torchlight 2. Torchlight 2 ran on my dad's netbook lol.

I just don't like spending more then $3ish. I think maybe $5 tops because you know with Steam sales EVENTUALLY a game is going to get hit ultra cheap during a summer or winter sale.

It's just that simple.

Guess the better question to ask is: what did you buy that you won't play? :P

Since im seeing a ton of internet articles on Steam users not playing over half their library

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Since when does that prevent anyone from buying more games?!

Broken Sword 2: The Smoking Mirror | Broken Sword: Director's Cut | Resonance | The Blackwell Bundle (3 games) | Jack Keane | Ceville | The Book of Unwritten Tales Collection (2 games) | The Whispered World | Lost Horizon | Gemini Rue | A New Beginning - Final Cut | Primordia | SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition | Terraria | Reus | FTL: Faster Than Light | Cart Life | XCOM: Enemy Unknown | Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gold Edition + Expansion Brave New World | The Night of the Rabbit | The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Legendary Edition | Endless Space Gold

25 games, if I counted correctly. 13 of those are digital re-buys of (mostly adventure) games I already bought and played retail.

Of the new games I've only played the overhauled Civ 5 so far. Gods & Kings (included in the Gold Edition) and Brave New World are two excellent expansions and turned a good game into a great one. For my first slow playthrough (34 hours this week) I chose the Roman Empire and made Rome the holy capital of protestantism . This could become my most favorite Civ game (I played them all - Civilization is imo one of the best franchises ever created on any platform).

Money spent: Roughly 200€, i.e. 8€ per game.

I went mad last sale and still haven't played a few of those so I learned my lesson, that's why you see 3 titles in OP and not dozens of games like some people buy.

Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes

Spellforce Collection

A couple DLCs.

I'm happy with that.

PC
Castle Crashers plus DLC = $4.25
Deadlight + Soundtrack = $5.00
Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition = $5.00
Mark of the Ninja = $3.75

PSN sale
Batman Arkham Asylum = $5.00

DS - The World Ends With You $22 on ebay. I had it shipped to my college address however, so I'm working with the Postal Service on getting that fixed.

I've only actually finished two games out of my 55 - game Steam library. That's Max Payne and Red Faction Armageddon

I've played a few hours of Max Payne 2.

37 hours on Borderlands

37 hours on Terraria

one hour on Amnesia

11 hours on Crysis, almost finished. Or maybe I did finish? I don't remember.

3 hours on Dead Island

5 hours on Fallout 3

3 hours on GTAIV

one hour on L.A. Noire.

A few hours on each Portal game

One hour on Sleeping Dogs

3 hours Starwars Battlefront II

2 hours Torchlight

6 hours on Limbo

Everything else I pretty much haven't touched.

Been away for a bit, but sneaking back in.

Gaming on: PS4, PC, 3DS. Got a Switch! Mainly to play Smash

35 games so far. Not a lot left to buy each day now.
