Possibly a new Fire Emblem game in the works for the Wii U maybe or could be something else, since Intellegent Systems are currently working on Fire emblem x Shin Megami Tensei.

Intellegent System did said that they could make an entry for the Wii U if they know for sure they could sell 700k  to make a profit....which shouldn't be a problem if you also count digital sales from the eShop. Espcially if you got third party companies praying to sell over 5 millons copies to make a profit.

Where's the evidence that IS is making Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem? I thought that project was pure Atlus, with Nintendo just providing a supervisory role to make sure the FE characters are portrayed acceptably (similar to Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, which by all accounts was all Sega, with some Nintendo SPD guys floating around making sure Mario remained recognizably Mario)

Fire Emblem U?! That would be awesome. Im sure we will eventually get a new original Fire Emblem since pretty much every Nintendo home console has had one. I do agree that I think this, and the Crossover game with Atlus, are going to be two different games. Cant wait to see what they have in store!

Multiple teams doesn't mean they'll be free either as some of those teams aren't strictly game development teams as IS are also involved in ventures like with R&D and so on which is why they're based in Nintendo's research centre.

Well Awakening has been one of the most successful games in the franchise and seems to have kicked started their stellar year on the 3DS, not a surprise they have a new game in works.

If it is developed by Intelligent Systems, I sort of doubt they are going at it alone on the Wii U since their previous 3D Fire Emblem games have never featured regular gameplay models that matched their hardware (love Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn but they both looked like they were originally meant for the N64 or GC respectively outside of their cinemas). I do hope they make another game but it is probably going to wind up on the 3DS. Although trademarking Emblem is interesting... maybe Nintendo is finally going to try a Fire Emblem spin off with a outside developer, depending on the game type that could be really fun.

If Nintendo has plans to aggressively expand and the franchise, now is the time to do it.

As for SMTxFE, I don't think it'll have a problem reaching 700K. Should easily top 300K LT in Japan given the popularity of the two franchises, and if it's actually very good, we could be looking at a much-needed hit for Wii U in Japan.
