Forums - Nintendo - Motley Fool/Jefferies analyst call Nintendo a "Buy" because soon they will go iOS

The guys go by 'Motley Fool' because they buck 'traditional investing' practices but I assure you they are serious.

I would totally by an Xbox One if they make Endless Ocean 3: Azure World. But since I don't think that is going to happen, why shouldn't they make Ipad and Facebook games? They are a gaming company after all, why should they not make games for non direct competitors? Shouldn’t they try to sell as many games as possible?

(Similarity, think about how many pieces of software Microsoft has made for Apple and Sony!)

Other than the 'shame' some people would feel about them, because of reasons I have yet to understand. And the potential they could hurt their platform sales - so they would have to watch that. I see nothing wrong with it.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

It's amazing how often these ''Analysts'' or ''Specialists'' are full of shit when they talk about a subject that you actually know about.

Because people might say: Why not buy an Ipad instead of a 3DS to play Nintendo games  ? Going that route would basically kill the 3DS and pretty much any potential for future homemade hardware.

That would definatly be something to avoid.  But I don't see how Nintendo making something like 'Temple Run' would really kill the WiiU/3DS sales.  They are in a difficult situation.

Bwahaha, did he read the summary of Nintendo's Investor's meeting at all? Actually they are the biggest player in mobile games ($$$), why would they go iOS? To make less money?

I'm pretty sure there are more games being played on ios and android than the 3DS lol

Most of which don't make nearly as much money.

umm... so because Wii U is a failure so far, they should go IOS...?

has all the analysts forgotten about the 3DS?
it would make more sense for them to say Nintendo should go third party with home consoles :p

why are analysts so stupid -__-

MAYBE...

They thought that the Wii U's stock would be good to purchase now because it will rise due to the lineup of games this fall...

...but didn't think that that would sound like a credible enough reason to suggest it so they came up with that thing instead...

They should go multiplatform with the Virtual Console, doing essentially what Sony is looking to do with Gaikai. They can both make money off old games (that people don't buy consoles for) while simultaneously advertising the new sequels on current platforms.

But new games for iOS? Not a chance.

PSN: Osc89

NNID: Oscar89

Why is everyone obsess with making Ninty a 3rd party dev? It is not like they haven't been in this situation before where their console is lagging behind their handheld. Now if both were doing poorly then I would probably agree but that is not the case.

Although this sounds like a nice idea for self-respecting 20-somethings on aeroplanes, there are obstacles.

As the original conduit of much of the available content, it's safe to assume that Nintendo's hardware is best suited to deliver it. Wii's Classic Controller is my rock, Wii U's controller options also appear to cover the input requirements. People who REALLY want that content on other platforms will find a way, but they must expect to jump through hoops to get there. Even on platforms where all the necessary knobs and dials are present, it's still a selling point for Nintendo, and spreading it around like a tupenny whore will land them in the clap clinic double-quick.

I implore advocates of such fanciful polices to elaborate on HOW this would benefit Nintendo. It's no good to state that it should happen, simply because of a desire to see it enacted.
