Kamiya Would Like To Make Bayonetta 3 If Second Is A Success



Platinum Game designer Hideki Kamiya has told a fan on Twitter that he would like the opportunity to work on a third Bayonetta game, providing Bayonetta 2 is a success on Wii U. It basically boils down to whether the game sells on Wii U, if it does then Kamiya would be more than happy to make Bayonetta 3.

I hope so. RT @Patpadi1: if Bayonetta 2 going to be a hit would you think about it to make a third part ?

Of course. They will need to make it for PS4/X1 in order to cover the loss from Bayonetta 2.

if bayonetta 2 doesn't succeed there wont be a bayonetta 3 for PS4/X1 lol, also if it succeeds then it'll be a WiiU exclusive again!

That'll be great! Not sure if it'll be a Wii U exclusive, but it'll be messed up if the 3rd game doesn't end up on Wii U.

Is that 100% sure? No variable part of the revenue for PG in both projects?

Pesky facts such as this are second to jumping at the chance to set the tone of the thread.

I hope Nintendo commissions a 3DS sequel, just out of spite.

Not neccasarily, nintendo will not pay for it's development if b2 doesn't move consoles.

Well I really don't see this happening. Bayonetta 2 is obviously going to be a flop on Wii U, as it barely passed 1 million units on PS3, and didn't even do that on 360 which had an even larger install base at the time.

and then we have the Wii U, a struggling console, and proportionaly to the PS3/360 install base it probably has an even smaller amount of core gamers, considering its a Nintendo console. I see Bayonetta 2 doing 500k but never reaching 1 million Lifetime sales :/

its sad really, its probably going to be an awesome game too.

Absolutely not. Nintendo is funding Bayonetta 2 so that Bayonetta fans buys a WiiU. Once the targeted audience is equipped with a WiiU Nintendo has no more reason to fund a sequel. Bayonetta 3 would thus need to be published by a 3rd party which would make it multi-platform.
