Wait, youre best of 2014 included Dead Rising 3, and a mispelled Destiny, but not X?

...wow...

X is the best looking game of 2014 so far to me, it's the only really amazing looking game to me so far. XenoBlade Chronicles was one of the best JRPG's of last gen, and this game looks to blow that out of the water.

The Division and Destiny look okay to me, they both draw a lot of influence from MMO's, and these just never turn out as good as they could. These 2 games, like Borderlands, Elder Scrolls or FFXI, strike me as games with tons on meaningless missions, which artificially extend the games length. I don't like games like these because they just take way too much time out of my life, and I don't feel rewarded for beating them. I feel like my time could have been better used.

I know X will likely be a 60 hour game like XenoBlade Chronicles, but what made XenoBlade great was that throughout the game, something was always happening. Except for maybe 5-10 hours of excessive travel time, or pointless grinding, I felt that the enitre game was just so intense from start to finish.

Dead rising is cheap fun. Its never going to make any best of lists. Its not worth paying attention to and X will most definitely be up there but I dont think it will make a 2014 release. Games like that take time to make sweeter. I predict a 2015 release.

X by far

Titanfall. It is the game that will make me jump into next gen.

Its not next gen...you can play it on a 360. Its just a really freaking fun looking game.

The Witcher 3 is all I need

Hell yeah, if Witcher 3 is a blockbuster they are going to light a fire under Biowares ass. They don't like being upstaged.

Of course it is next gen. The 360 version is not even made by the same people. By this logic, none of these games are next gen. There are more impressive PC titles all the time.

SUPER SMASH
X
inevitable pokemon z

is beyond two soul will be release in2014????

Ppl were rdy to bet their right hand on Pokémon Grey being inevitable. With the success of Black2/White2 I would'nt be surprise if it was the begining of a new trend and we will see X2/Y2.

Back on topic, Monolith's Soft's X would probably be first, closely followed by Smash and MK8.

I dont have a problem with that. Black/white 2 was the best pokemon game i ever played and a really good jrpg. Its the reason why im anticipating X and Y so much.

Tales of Xillia 2
Atelier Escha & Logy
Fairy Fencer F

Are my 3 most anticipated games releasing in 2014, so far.

I can't really crown a best since, you know, it's 2013.

Knew there was some reason I liked you.

I'll go with Atelier Escha & Logy since those games always keep me engaged and there's a bit near the middle where they're the most addicting things in the world.  X will almost certainly be an objectively better and fantastic game, but the crafting systems in Atelier titles always draw me in.

Okay, Atelier is a huge franchise, with multiple Iris games on the PS2 and pretty much an annual release on the PS3.

If someone new to this series wanted to try out this franchise, and see if they liked it, which game would be the game to get?

----

P.S. It's funny that in a thread written to praise The DIvision as the most exciting game of 2014, everyone is voting X.

NOA have listed the game as TBA 2014, and I remember reading an article about X releasing in 2014, but it's the "target release date." Games do get delayed.

I think the game will release in Japan in May 2014, and NA/EU in November 2014.

Wouldn't have thought it before the trailer, but Mario Kart 8. Looks like a ton of fun with this new gravity courses!

And of course X.

I'm sure you also believe Watchdogs is next gen as well, correct?
