I'd buy it, honestly though I think the next FF to get re-released will be 12, because its so easy, all they have to do is bring it up to HD, for 7 they have to remake it.

I'd rather have an FF6 3D remake. Something like Crisis Core style graphics, Dissidia Duodecim world map but high quality.  Vita, PS360WiiU, or PS4/Xbox One. But if FF7 was remade I'd get it.

A full fledged remake using the new luminous game engine would sell like crazy! it would pay off for square enix to cover the money it cost to make it, they'd have to make it multiplat to take advantage of the sales. I'd love this to happen and im sure MILLIONS of gamers would too.
SE just haven't got the courage to do it because of the costs and obviously if they didn't pull it off, But just dont change the story, keep the towns and there names, keep the world map the sam, keep the dialogue the same, keep the experience and battle system the same, basically don't change a thing except the visuals and you cant go wrong surly!?

No, Square should keep it's hands off my favourite JRPG, specially since they are not at their best right now. They need to rediscover their vision: focus on making innovations, great story telling, and fun game-play.

Nope. IX doesn't need a visual upgrade like VII does. Though low rez, the graphics are perfect. Even the low poly models are adorable. An HD remake like the X and X-2 are getting would be prefered for IX, but VII needs a full on visual upgrade.

FFVII has some moments that would not translate well into realistic visuals. Like those weird minigames (CPR, that slapping fight between Tifa and that woman whose name I forget...) and, mainly, the part where Cloud dresses as a woman. It would be extremely weird on a remake.

"Oh, they can just remove stuff like that, it's not like people will care about minor stuff". The FF fanbase is so annoying nowadays, that it would be too big of a risk.

That's why my idea is to keep the out-of battle char models chibi-style in order to not ruin all those strange/funny events like the one u mention & some other like the CLOUD cross-dressing this one especially can't be done if CLOUD'S model is a realistic one & they can do super realistic-cool-awesome-mesmerizing char models during battles if u think about it the char models was better during battles in the original game also & less detailed out of battles.

If SE ever wants to start making money again, that'd be a great place to start.

On topic: Yes, but not until Square Enix officially say they've out done Final Fantasy VII in sales, and media success. (it might never happen)
