Lets make the same thread about xbox one and see what all of the same people say in there. there would be nothing different but the console of choice. Insert name in title. No proof, no number, no nothing but a whole lot of clapping and pats on the back. What really happened? Nothing. just spin. So I spin and no one gets it? LOL

So how many of each sku?

or you just writing a page with out any facts, numbers or sales. We don't even know how many of each sku. Plus Amazons sales records have been rumored to be a mess.

Also wait until MS Marketing Machine kicks in to high gear. Everyone is going to want one. Next year they will release Illumi-room. boom. Hardcore will love Illumiroom. It's the most immersive play style I have seen yet.

Sorry, I just can't take this thread serious. It's just way to early. No numbers or facts makes it hard to say anything. People will forget about all this DRM by November.

Do you honestly think Microsoft is the only company to have something like illumi-room in development? Sony released a video of their version of illumi-room back in 09, three years before MS did.

Ok, well where is it?

Same place as MS version. In development.

I was walking down along the street and I heard this voice saying, "Good evening, Mr. Dowd." Well, I turned around and here was this big six-foot rabbit leaning up against a lamp-post. Well, I thought nothing of that because when you've lived in a town as long as I've lived in this one, you get used to the fact that everybody knows your name.

Speaking of average prices is really just ridiculous.  What matters is the entry price when people are really focusing on price.  Which is going to be a bigger factor when the gap is larger than $50, or the paltry $35 that article suggests.

No, you don't understand what I was getting at. He says that price is the deciding factor. That article that I referenced shows us that his assumption is certainly not always true. Average price point in the 360's case simply means that on average, the more expenive models were bought. Whereas if his assumption was correct the average price point would be below the PS3 since a far greater number of the cheapest versions would be selling.

Want more proof? Look at the iPad or any of the really nice, expensive, popular phones.

That article is completely skewed, though.  That was the same month that the $399 GeOW 3 bundle launched, so of course the average price would go up.  And most PS3's were probably going for the new $249 entry price that Sony announced the month before.  Given all that, it's amazing it was a mere $35 difference.  I would bet in a normal month, the PS3 has the higher average price, or at least on par.

Actually I remember the average price point being higher than the PS3 for different months before that too. But again, that's not the point. Please understand that I'm simply pointing out that price is not the single deciding factor. If it was, the average selling price of the 360 would have been closer to $200, not $300.

Oh, and make sure to watch your quote trees (although I don't know why I bother anymore >_> ).

M$ will keep those markets (definitely US, not so sure about UK) but Sony should dominate Europe & Asia

The thing about Illumiroom is that while it might be cool, it's not practical in most homes. Most homes that I've seen don't have a TV set up in front of a completely empty wall. It usually inside an entertainment center or there is a bookshelf or something beside it that would totally defeat the purpose of Illumiroom. When I saw the feature I thought it as really cool but then I realized it wouldn't work for me at all as I didn't have a TV set up in a good position.

And on the article: I believe supply constraints are going to hurt Microsoft. A large number of Americans are about getting the new toy, whether it's a phone or video game system or whatever. So if the Xbox sells out due to supply constraints while the Playstation sells out at a higher number (or doesn't sell out), people are going to see the Playstation as being more popular so they will want it. It's about fads. America loves them.

Wi U to win this gen confirmed.

Well I guess that means the XB1 DRM reversal was key to getting support. Pretty impressive of MS to sell out of pre-orders even at $100 more.

Launch isn't going to mean much regardless now that things are selling out. March and April and the months after sales will be more telling.

A brand new console selling out of consoles isn't that impressive.

Then by your logic, this article means nothing.

Of course it means nothing. The Wii U sold out at launch lmfao.

PS4 is outselling XB1 worldwide as a whole and as individual countries. That is a fact, whether its through VG Software sales charts, Amazon Sales rankings or whatever you want to use. XB1 fans even admit it. In spite of the DRM reversal, PS4 continues to outrank the XB1 in sales. Is it 1.1-1, 3-2, 2-1? who knows, it doesn't change the fact that it is.

THIS ONLY APPLIES TO THE UK AND US
Unless Sony decides to not market the PS4 at all, marketing will not make a difference regardless of how much Microsoft throws at it, because Sony can also market the console. + its $100 cheaper.

Initially, games will not matter because Its not like 1 system has BF4 or COD coming out exclusively for that system.

One has killzone, and Drive club while the other has Forza and Dead Rising. Most people wont care since they all have BF4, COD, Madden, Fifa, Lego Marvel for kiddies, NFS, etc. out our approximately 15 launch games each, 12 are the same, maybe XB1 has one more that will actually sell at retail.

Unless there are hardware problems for the PS4, for the First 6 months at least, PS4 will continue to outsell Xbox. that is as close to a common sense fact whether people want to believe it or not. Only thing MS can do to change that is Release HALO, preferably HALO AND GOW next year. That is all.

THIS APPLIES TO REST OF THE WORLD
MS can't do anything. They couldn't take away the stranglehold from Sony even with cheaper SKUs, over a year head start, and HALO. Only thing they can do is pray and hope the PS4 hardware has so many problems, people have no choice but to buy XB1.

Easily PS4 will outsell XB1 4 to 3 during the first 6 months of launch in the US. That is assuming MS can market the system positively, otherwise it will be worse. Elsewhere in the world it will be 2 to 1, just as it is right now between the PS3 and XB360, especially with it being $100 cheaper. That is common sense.

I think whichever console can get the biggest install base for Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty Ghosts will win this coming console war. So far, it looks like PS4 is winning.
