Kinect isn't costing MS anywhere near $100 though, it's just assumed that's what's driving the price up that much.

Let me see: Research and development+Hardware Manufacture+Separate OS for X1= $50. That seems right.

She's probably worse than Don

R&D and the OS are sunk costs, they won't be affecting the price ...

NobleTeam360: because I'm not a journalist, I just rush this because I was afraid someone else was going to post a topic with the same subject as mine. That tend to happen alot with me, and I have a bad habbit of typing fast which effect my grammar.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

We'll see. She was in charge of Windows 8 and that didn't turn out very well to the public. I personally like Windows 8, but then again i'm only one person. She needs to prove herself before I could give any accurate opinion.

I don't like the fact that the Xbox division is being broken down into two divisions. Separate leaders requires constant communication, and sometimes egos flare. Should be an interesting next few years.

She's not the one in charge of win8,she's the one in charge of 8.1

I don't know what's with the Kinect paranoia. It looks like an excellent device and it will receive tons of support.
I don't see it deterring game experience at all.

It's not just paranoia. With me for example, I have seen more than enough Kinect in the last 2-3 years to know I have no interest in the device and outside of some dance a fitness games I see no true need for the device to be forced with a console purchase.

Many of us see it as a $100+ roadblock keeping us from getting a XBone.

I am sure it doesn't cost them anything near that either. Even so, if they had a sku without it, how much would you expect it to cost?

I would see a Kinect-less XBone needing to cost $400.

I like that price.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Windows 8 is like the Office change in 2007 where they brought in ribbons (she also did that). It's different, but better. Many people may not like Windows 8 now, but five years from now it will probably be seen as a good thing compared to what people think of it now. Most people just don't like change, that's all there is to it.

OT: I think we'll be seeing some good things from Julia Larson. She has a good track record of improving MS products.

Almost uniquely among video game executives, i disliked Mattrick on something of an instinctive level. Mrs. Larson-Green looks like someone you can trust.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

turn around ???? the market cap is close to a 10 year high what are you talking about almost every business is going up right now.....

ok my bad you were talking about the gaming division.... well that either is not doing bad.... only fanboys are going crazy right now 9on both sides me included) but I'm convinced XB1 will be a commercial success no matter what....
and looking at it, it looks like it will be more profitable than PS even if it sells less unit over its life time.... but we'll see....

something else of importance she is not replacing Don, she is getting the top exec level way above the responsibilities don had.... she is executive vice president and handle every hardware.... so what we need to know now is who is gonna be lead on Xbox...

but I think she is a great choice... I always liked here at conferences... she is a nerd with class lol :D
