I do not see a consensus GotY for 2013 due to incredible line up of games.

My guess would be Last of Us will win most with Bioshock Infinite and Grand Theft Auto V being close behind in western websites/magazines at least.

GTAV is going to to be overall GOTY, I'll bet. (Wins the most awards, has the most people screaming GOTY)

Yep from 3DS to PS3 titles, there plenty of games that deserve praise. I was never a fan of one being the game of the year. If a game is good, I'll describe it as one of the year best.

There are usually at least two GOTYs. The one that wins all of the awards, and the one (or more) that deserves them.

GTA5 or Bioshock will be the GOTY while The Last of Us will be GOTG.

Seriously though we'll get around 10-15 GOTY's like every year.

AS many have said we always do. Every site does their own thing. Some do Racing game of the year and every category out, and then do an over all game of the year.

Nooo I always lose bets. Ok I take back that the TLOU won't win GOTY awards but it will certainly be overshadowed by GTA 5. 

That is a possibility. GTA is a behemoth after all, and R* seems to be polishing that game to the point where even the packaging will shine. We will have to wait and see. Watch Dogs on the other hand I can't place any faith in just yet. So far it strikes me as a good game, but not GOTY quality (yet). That could change.
