What with such a strong lineup this year, the 7th generation is really going out with a bang. But, this year with have had such great titles come out. So far, Tomb Raider, Bioshock Infinite and some others early in 2013. Then their was the last of us, which clearly deserves some GOTY awards. But with games like GTA V and Watch dogs still to come out along many others. I feel it will be impossible to pick just one game of the year this year. But i think GTA V will get it overall, even though other games will deserve it just as much, if not more so. So we could we have possibly 2 game of the year titles this year due to such a strong line up? 

Uhm.....there's always more than one GotY

It's an opinion. Some people would give the award to one game, others to another. Some games get an "official" GotY sticker from a website or whatnot, others just get some love from certain gamers.

So to answer your question....yes. There will be more than one GotY.

We get multiple GOTY's every year, either because they are from different genres, categories, or because they the title got from different gaming sites and magazines.

So yeah, to answer your real question, both The Last of Us and GTA V will be GOTY's of the year 2013 :P

i guess you mean that this year one game wont dominate the GOTY awards? if so then certainly yes. we already have two very high rated games out, bioshock and the last of us then there is also GTA5 coming out soon. there is also the next gen stuff as well, though i doubt any of them will manage to win a lot GOTY awards

The developers just chose the wrong year to release these games. There's no doubt that the majority of places are going to give GTA5 the GotY. The Last of Us will probably be runner up.

Yup ... look at the great number of "GOTY editions" we have from different games each year. And there are games that don't have GOTY editions that still get the award, like Skyrim. This year looks like TLoU, GTAV and Bioshock I. There may be more and then there are 'sleeper' hits.

I think it will either go to Watchdogs or GTA 5. Unfortunately I feel games like TLOU, Tomb Raider, and Bioshock Infinite will be forgotten by the end of the year.
