Impossible. Its going to need to be delayed if they were to make changes, otherwise we will most likely see problems like RROD again.

I would LOVE for this to be true. It would bring the Xbox One closer to the PS4 specs and maybe then the $500 price tag could be justified. I'm not hoping for this to be fake, I'm using common sense. This is most likely fake. Do I even need to mention how a late spec update could go wrong? I mean if they're doing upgrades this late it doesn't give inspire confidence in Microsoft. RAM and GPU Clock upgrades should have been considered a long time ago. Why now of all times will they suddenly need an increase, this close to release? Sorry but this just doesn't add up. It's all about the games though right? |
better for ryse and dr3 thats for sure
This is incredibly unlikely at this late stage. It's not like they can simply solder extra RAM chips onto every board after years of meticulous planning by MS engineers.
Also, not sure I can trust a website that launched last week...

The rumor started in Beyond3D by a user that said he is not sure if that info is accurate...
I hope this isn't true, but if it is, this has to be one of the most pointless things Microsoft has ever done.

I don't see them increasing the amount of Ram. What I can see them doing is increasing the GPU clock speed if the console truly is running cooler than expected. I also see them trying to make the OS footprint smaller. A faster GPU clock and 6gb of ram dedicated to games would make it close enough to the PS4 where the differences would be negligible. If the Xbox One doesn't change I still dont think we'll be seeing much difference in graphics between the PS4 and X1 for at least 3-4 years or more. Regardless from the way the games look already I will be satisfied with the way the games look on either console for a long time since they will always find ways to push the consoles. Graphics are getting to the point where I don't care about progressing much further. Crysis 3 and BF4 max settings are both insane. I would be fine if X1 games only achieve that level of fidelity.
Do any of you know the deadline as to when production would need to start to have the system out before Dec. 1st? Seriously and no guesswork

You know how they said that there wouldn't be any more DRM? And do you remember HOW they said there'd be no DRM? They said it would be a day one patch. What does that mean? Production has already begun. Consoles are likely already in boxes.

So you're not positive at all. You're guessing maybe a good guess but still. Could also mean that it's not something they even have to worry about until the system is at people's houses.
