The wii u is a huge leap up from the wii, but obviously pales in comparison to the x1/ps4 by any stretch of the imagination spec wise. Still if we just look at the wii to wii u transition, it is a pretty good step. The wii u is slightly more powerful then the ps3/360 too so it isn't all bad. As for the lack of games, nin has never really had good 3rd party support and this is there first foray into hd gaming. Ya, they are ridiculously late to the party though and could've done better. Sales wise, you shouldn't expect wii level sales. That was a lightning in the bottle situation. The wii u could do as much as n64 or gamecube. Oh, almost forgot, there marketing department is shit. At the end of the day Nintendo consoles are in there little bubble known as Nintendo land where people go to play there exclusives. Wow, writing this makes me feel slightly bad abut the wi u in general xD So, what do you think? Are people just expecting too much from the wii u? Did Nintendo just disappoint people in general? Do you disagree with my points and think I'm fucking crazy?

I think you are demeaning the system and its chances too much in your OP.

oh, didn't really notice. I was just typing out my thoughts on the matter. I don't know though, I gave reasons on why Nintendo might be struggling and my statement signifies that I think people are being to hard on the wii u.

No, your statement doesn't signify that at all.  Your statement basically says the system is awful and will sell awful, but people are being mean.  This is a flame bait thread.

Why, gamecube sales were relatively good? It didn't flop by any definition. I can add more positives to my statement though if it seems to negative or rework it a bit.
Edit:reworked the op to clarify my points more. There are actual discussions being made here so I disagree that this is a flame bait thread

Did I really? I was defending it on various points in my post. Damn lol I don't dislike the wii u, just don't think it's worth the value right now. It makes a great secondary console for those nin exclusives that I enjoy. Now you might be thinking of the Wii, I hate that abomination of a console. Though I feel somewhat honored to be compared to rol for some reason.

You weren't being compared to Rol. Otaku was saying that he learned that "term" from Rol and was using in this circumstance.

OT: The Wii U is a bundle of crap. So, noyes. Instead of being hard on it you need to get away from it. Crap stinks.

For those with no sarcasm detector; I'm being sarcastic.

Well thanks for bursting my bubble xD

specs wise? nope, alot of Ninty fans were saying how it was going to blow PS360 out of the water and the reality is its doing no such thing. Its much closer to those two than PS4/x1 which wouldnt be so bad if PS360 hadnt released 5-6 years ago.

sales, again people were expecting more, much more.

The thing is: when you look back on PS3 or Xbox 360 launch, it was kinda slow too, however, those systems had the tech and potential to last for years and years.
The WiiU arrive late to the party, with specs that make him a odd console, that do not belong in any gen, not the last and not the new.
So, althought launches are always hard, the future seem a little bleak for the WiiU.
In other hand, see the PSVITA, it is a juggernaut of power and it is also a tremendous failure sales wise. So, I don´t know...

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Nintendo has the handheld market on lockdown. The ps vita also launched at too high of a price so it's chances weren't that high.

Specs wise, yes. Sales wise, no. Lack of games, no.

/ thread

Nintendo and PC gamer

Its just a shame that so many games got delayed, had Pikmin, Rayman, W101, Wii Fit all been released by now and combined with Lego City+Game & Wario that would give it an exclusobe each month in the first half of the year. Having a few high quality excluwives would actually give them a reason to advertise so we would actually be seeing commercials. The only other thing is they should only have one sku at $299. Combine those things and I think Wii U would have sold close to 5 million by now.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Specs yes, it's powerful enough to provide great games.

Sales no, it's doing horribly. The lack of games deserves backlash as well.
