But being the White Knight doesn't mean you are the most powerful In fact, it only means to represent whatever you want to associate with its armor. In this case White tends to be the ideal of benevolence and kindness. No matter how you want to picture the other consoles, the WiiU has free online, no DRM (except for the damned Region Lock), backwards compatibility, support for indie developers, great first-party lineup and cheap.

You can argue Ps4 has some of those and do better than it, but I'll point you again to @bold !

In that case.

PS4 is the Sun King

Xbox One is the Black Knight

Wii U is the White Knight without the ability to upgrade equipment from what it starts with on WKC.

And what's the problem with that? It means WiiU wants a challenge. Probably because WKC was already fairly easy.

There's no problem.  It's just weaker.

Please. Sony has always been a 'M$ Lite' Games are a small part of what they do. I mean just this past gen, they charged $599, they introduced Online Passes (which I'm told Sony fans are happy to pay, so no biggie), moving forward they are going to begin charging a pay wall to play online multiplayer..But the system costs $100 less than Xbox one so ...yay?

Its funny because, had Sony's gaming endeavor remained successful, and gaming seen as a proftiable entity, and the economy hadn't been in the shitter for the past 5+ years, I'm sure Samsung would have entered gaming and cleaned Sony's clock, like they've done in phones and TV's.

When a conglomerate like M$, Sony etc. enter gaming its always for ulterior motives. M$ entered to keep Sony from 'taking over the living room' Sony entered to 'take over the living room.'

I'm not knocking it, it just is what it is. ultimately, Sony's goals are similar to M$ in the gaming sphere. M$ was more overt, Sony convert. The whole concept of 'console wars' is silly, If anything, Nintendo has much more to lose if gaming falls. Which is why I'm so baffled why Nintendo is more concerned with developer vanity than they are with console gamings survival.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

Not for people who care about horse power, region free consoles and strong third party support.   Considering what kind of policies Microsoft had before the famous 180, the PS4 is the White Knight (relatively speaking of course). The Wii U, on the other hand, is far from that in my opinion. Even though the other two require a payment, their online infrastructure is much more promising than Nintendo's offerings at this stage. The PS4 (and XBO) appear to have a relatively large number of games for the first year, including strong third party support (unlike the Wii U in both cases). To me, the Wii U is akin to the rent a knight you use after all the others have been exhausted in battle. Not bashing the system or anything since I do like Nintendo and I intend to get one, but that's just how it looks.

Nobody said anything about 'the most powerful', but the Xbox One and PS4 are on similar footing. Given what Microsoft proposed earlier, much to the distaste of a large group of gamers, the PS4 was/is the White Knight because of its similarity minus the restrictions. They would get a similar experience, minus Xbox exclusives of course, for less (and fewer restrictions). The same third party games, an online system that's catching up to XBL, etc. I am sure the reception would have been similar if the PS4 was exctly the same in power or slightly lower. I see no reason why the Wii U would ever be considered a White Knight, though. It would have if Microsoft and Sony both left gamers with a lot to be desired. The fact that most gamers see the Wii U as a side system and not the main course is very telling. I'm inclined to think they see it that way too

And yes, I will argue that and not bother with the bold since 'the most powerful' argument is not one I intend to carry.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

Normal people never aligned themselves with the White Knight. It's only after heroic deeds that people take him in mind. So far no one's giving him a chance, but who knows what will happen next!

Wii U is the white knight because they don't make you pay any fees for services like online.
