Forums - Gaming - The greatest game developer of the 7th gen?

Some people might say Naughty Dog for making Uncharted. Others may say Bungie for Halo. And still others might say Rockstar for releasing Grand Theft Auto. While those are all admirable developers, none of them hold a candle to Gameloft.

When you pick Naughty Dog or Bungie, you're picking a developer who has made only 1-2 different IPs. But with Gameloft, you get several high-quality ripoffs of quality AAA games. Gamelofts gives you ripoffs of Uncharted, Halo, Grand Theft Auto, God of War, Zelda, Final Fantasy, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed, and many other critically acclaimed IPs. Gameloft is the only objectively true answer to the question.

Rockstar Studios - I'm not the largest fan of GTA in the world, but their stories are actually really pretty well written and sequenced. Midnight Club's are always highly underrated IMO however, their true gem though was Red Dead Redemption (One of the best games of the generation). Open world, fun and completely hit a home run for how open world games should be designed. (If only they could develop my dream of a Medieval open world game happen like Game of Thrones esque, I'd be very happy)

I was thinking the very same thing when I was playing Red Dead Redemption the other day. I like to think this is the game they will release after GTAV. The test would be if they could develop an action title that doesn't revolve around shooting.

I did not say that >_>

I think it safe to say that people who become Nintendo fans tend to not be that big on the story, since Nintendo rarely make story heavy games, and some fans seem to despise anything that isn't pure gameplay, like cutscenes.

I liked Final Fantasy XIII.

That should tell you that I, sometimes, like the overuse of cutscenes and a storyline.

CD Project RED, Bethesda, Naughty Dog, Nintendo, Bungie, Polyphony Digital, Bioware, and I'm surely forgetting many others worthy of being considered amongst the greatest. Very difficult to tell if one of them is the greatest, much easier and fairer to say there are many greatest ones and which one is better depends on each gamer's different tastes.
