Not accurately at all. Similar to how Apple is hated by A LOT of people, but it still sells. I'm not sure if "popular" is the correct word to use. Because both the iphone and the XBox are popular (iphones more so), but they are also the most hated out of the competition.

I've read a study (not sure how accurate it is but it gets the message across) that states that more than 20 percent of the comments about the iphone are negative. I'd bet that the XBox has an even higher percentage.

PlayStation is the bigger brand, so anything like this is no surprise.

Enthusiasts vote on things like this, so with Sony's pro-gamer stance opposed to Microsoft's anti-gamer stuff, this is no surprise.

I went to Gamestop yesterday and the 2 guys there couldn't get enough of trashing PS4. One of them told a customer that Microsoft dropped their DRM policy and Sony added DRM to their console right after E3. The other guy said that the only exclusive that PS4 will release with is the new Killzone. I just kept wondering if they're actually allowed to promote one product over another.

xbox sold more in this gen but in terms of recognition they are the same in America. Everybody knows Playstation same as Xbox. And both brands are well liked.

But it comes down to how you define the bigger brand. Was Nintendo the smaller brand in Gamecube times compared to Xbox ?

i thought that was Nintendo unless you are refuring to total consoles sold as in gen 6 and 7 in which case would be Playstation and Nintendo, in gen 7 the Wii has still sold more than the 360 but if you are just refering to ps3 vs 360 then the 360 is still ahead in NA.
