This is a really easy answer for me.. Although kinda not really. I would pick without second guessing rpgs but If I couldnt play anything else I would feel really bad because then I couldnt play my beloved visual novels/adventure games..
To me it's essentially a clash between RPG series like Breath of Fire, Final Fantasy, Ys, Chrono, Xeno, Diablo and such and Visual Novel/Adventure games like 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors, Ace Attorney, Professor Layton, Time Hollow and such.. The RPG's win but...Yeah you get the idea.

RPGs for me. Whether they be JRPG, WRPG, ARPG or SRPG. I guess I just love to see progress of my characters in games.. leveling stats and striving for bigger and better goals.

I like open world games such as Skyrim and inFamous.

Either adventure platformers or old school RPGs, both eastern and western. I recognize though online shooters will always be the big thing for most gamers.

I would say stealth and strategy games ... challenge the player in terms of mental ability more than any other genre. Everything else is more a matter of reflexes than reasoning/planning.

Survival horror requires this too ... but they don't make survival horror games anymore.

I'm going to cop-out and say all of them.

There was so many genres and only a certain number of slots in the poll, I would have loved to have included MMORPG, RTS, Fighting.  Tbh I blanked on Platformers, that should be on instead of Hack and Slash, idk how I could forget.

Honestly Dynasty Warriors is the only Hack and Slash I play anymore, its a dying genre.
