Yeah I almost cried. I was like you and imagined it as my own child and it made it worse for me. It still kinda hit me the second time. I think the reason it hit me so much was also because the acting was phenomenal. Troy Baker who voices joel said that that day when he shot that scene was one of the worst days of his life because he had to dig deep and find an experience he had that was emotional in order to get the part right. And what was worse is they had to shoot it again after that.

Being a great actor truly takes balls and complete openness with ones emotions and life experiences. It had to be gut wrenching to dig up all of those memories for less than a minute of tape.

Yeah I would never be able to do it.  Being able to bring up life experiences and work from those is very hard to do. Troy Baker is an awesome actor though and can't wait to see his performance in Infamous: Second Son.

STAGE, you edited your last post to me a little, didn't you? Or am I just seeing things?

You caught the edited version, yes. Luckily for me. I have a lot of thoughts going around my head and sometimes I do not get it all into one fitting before I feel like pressing enter. Thank goodness for the edit button. With me if I edit, my intent is better unearthed there.

I realized something really, really cool about this game. I love how when you the notes of the deceased some of them were really naive about their planning for the infected. If they planned for the infected they ran into the scavengers. Those who planned to escape the scavengers didn't think really hard about running into the infected. Its like they couldn't win either by land or sea. LOL Dawn Of The Dead all over again.

I thought it was quite predictable - the moment I realized it's his daughter I've thought to myself "she is soooo dead"...and then when I saw that soldier I thought "really? they're going with that cliche?"

The last thing any person would be thinking about during a zombie outbreak is one of their own hometown soliders turning on them. If there was ever a quarantine you can bet your bottom dollar you would probably be down the on a soldiers sights too.

I had to stop playing... it was too depressing... and she was such a nice kid too, not an ounce of vice and understanding of her dad's situation as a single parent. Jesus Christ that was heart wrenching.

If you thought the start was depressing, wait till you're in the last third of the game.

Some people are easily impressed. I think the intro was cheap. A cheap and clichéd use of psychology that usually works on the average mass market person. I felt insulted due to the game's attempt to cheat on me emotionally (not that I really cared).

Paranoid much?

If I enjoyed and it made me sad why is it cheap?

Dark Souls is very cheap they use good gameplay for you to like the game. I wasn't fooled though. I saw through it.

Dark Souls is perfection, man. You aren't seriously critucizing Dark Souls, are you?

I guess I'm a lil bit too old and cynical for stories like The Last of Us. It feels like I've seen it all before many many times. But for someone younger who hasn't seen as many movies as I have I bet the story is very exciting. I can't blame those people, I am happy or them.

I love the Souls games!

I was just being sarcastic. I don't get how something that is done well can be considered cheap.

Even if I've seen something similar it doesn't really take away that much because it's done well. If everyone had the same view as you, there won't be any movies to watch or games to play because they've all been made at some point. Besides The Last of Us has more than enough uniqueness.
