Kid getting infected during attack and needing to be 'put down' then talk down the suicidal father.
Not a straight copy, little brother, infected during attack, actually turns and attacks, followed by immediate suicide of Henry. Far less emotional then in TWD. I liked the bit where they all started to connect and care for eachother better.

You act as if the Walking Dead was the first to do something like that...

No, but it was still fresh in memory. It just didn't work for me in tlou the way it was rushed through compared to the emotional impact that part had in twd.

Out of nowhere? Totally unexpected? What?

Come on. Even if you were on a total media black out for the game, basic mathematics would foreshadow what happened in the prolog.

This. I was waiting for what happened to happen because it was the only thing that would make sense. The way it was telegraphed ruined the surprise for me and thus the emotion I would have felt otherwise.

I expected the guy and his daughter to get out of the city, not for another human to take her life. I didn't know the game was like that. I know later on in the story things get pretty bad but not in the moment of escaping and finding hope. I would've never thought hope would be lost then.

This game is the perfect combo of Resident Evil and ICO (another Sony classic). You have to care for this girl and they make it paramount that you do take care of her or else you cannot progress. Awesome moments so far.

I thought it was pretty obvious for her to die, but that doesn't make the moment less tragic. I mean, my friend (the one who owns a Ps3) and I were joking about how much time would she had until she died, but we both remained silent when it happened.

EDIT: So you didn't know about Ellie either and her death was still expected?

EDIT: For the record, he didn't censor things. I did when quoting him. Don't read if you haven't played.

WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU IMPLYING?

No, seriously, the thread is a five minutes into spoiler. I don't know the credibility of what you've posted, but you've pretty much ruined it for me.

When I said, "her" I meant Sarah: as in I thought the girl on the cover of the box and the trailer I saw were Sarah (since I didn't know who Ellie was). I didn't think they were going to kill her because I thought we had this whole adventure ahead of us.

Ohhh, okay. Man, you truly scare me there xD

I should have probably realized from the start that they weren't the same person (Sarah and Ellie)- but I didn't pay too much attention to her.

Some people are easily impressed. I think the intro was cheap. A cheap and clichéd use of psychology that usually works on the average mass market person. I felt insulted due to the game's attempt to cheat on me emotionally (not that I really cared).

Always "nice" to see people who belittle other people's judgement and opinions to make their arguments seem more educated or superior...
