Forums - Nintendo - Retro needs 2 studios

Retro studios is one of the best developers out there right now, they have made Metroid Prime Trilogy and Donkey Kong Country Returns which are great games, the problem is they are too few and far in between. On average they put out 2 games per generation, if they added a 2nd team they could up that to 4 games and as long as they maintained quality I see no reason why not to.

Imagine one team working on the already announced DKC Tropical Freeze while the other team is hard at work on the new Metroid game. Once those games are complete one team can work on resurrecting another old Nintendo series like Star Fox and F-Zero, while the other team works on a new ip, maybe an open world western styled RPG.

The only thing in my opinion that is holding back Retro from being as great as Naughty Dog is output. If they can put out 3 Uncharted games and Last of Us in a 6 year span while maintaing quality, I see no reason why Retro cant do the same thing.

Nintendo is expanding like mad (at the moment), their new HQ in Kyoto will be ready before the end of the year, Monolith soft opened a new Studio in Kyoto and Retro moved from this place:

to this place last year:

they are expanding but things take time.
I would love if they would set up a 3DS and (2?) WiiU team(s) (Metroid Prime would work great on a 3DS) !

Ya I knew about the bigger building and they also added some new employees who had worked with Bethesda, Vigil and I think Naughty Dog which Iis def a good start but in a recent interview they claimed they still werent big enough to work on 2 games at once.

I'll go along with anything that will bring out star fox for the Wii u

I'm hoping Retro works on some new IPs. Before Metroid Prime, they were working on a car combat game like Twisted Metal, and a WRPG called Raven Blade. I'd like to see them do something like that, Nintendo needs WRPGs.

Retro Studios could be the next Rare - pump out quality games yearly. But the thing is Nintendo is handicapping them by forcing them to use already established Nintendo franchises. Nintendo needs to let them free.

You are right, they are only  working on one game at a time....(I really want a Metroid Prime game on the 3DS now.....damn, that would look and work great :D )

if they made a new IP, so why not?
