Does it require always online & drm? ....

Ex Graphics Whore.
Give me a Chromebook at that price with the ability to download simple programs onto it and easily use them offline and you've got my money. You've got the web browsing part down, but with good word processing I'll be sold.
Currently playing:
Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9
I think that word processing is a possibility....should be able to use a browser based Google apps

They are not advertised and available in only a few places. I'd say it is not bad. You can't even buy the Samsung chromebook because it is constantly sold out, they are just produced in limited quantities. RT had a massive advertising campaign, shared with w8.
Android will be on a lot of form factors soon, laptops included. There are rumors that the next version will have better support for screens bigger than 10.1 inches.
Oh dallas... every tiny positive for Google is a massive win for you.
Why don't you talk about Bing successes lately(Yahoo, Facebook, Siri, 30% joint US market share) and what they showed at the Build conference which will make Bing integratable into any app out there?
"The Bing API" if you may call it...
It's much cooler and exciting technology news than ..."Guys, Wal Mart will carry Google laptops. Google Wins!"

No, it is not, not even close :)
Now while some of the ultrabook market may be interested into Google Chromebook (esp. to have a portable web browser); the thing you can do with a Google Chromebook are very limited compared to an ultrabook.
I saw a lot of people being completly mistaken and buying a Chromebook hoping it would let them do they day to day job and then finally bought an ultrabook instead...
Google Chromebook is selling even worse than the Microsoft Surface RT and for good reason...
Really, nothing to do with an Ultrabook...

Fine, but it would only be fair and impartial to list the bad events of MSFT along with the good ones that you listed. How do you think the Xbox 1 will do?? The first couple of years at any rate, it won't be good due to the higher price and limited overseas market. Money trap, buddy.
What about MSFT still not going anywhere in the mobile markets?? It's losing marketshare with desktops basically every month, but can't gain any traction with mobile, so basically things aren't going good at all. The market is moving to mobile but MSFT can't win customers even if they beg for their dollars.
