What the actual fuck? Yes. Absolutely. It's against the law to hit another person and who knows if the other guy thought she was single or not. Would you have liked if someone beat you up because you were having sex with his ex girlfriend? Even if they were still dating as he claims, he simply had no right to do so. There is no excuse for hitting someone (woman or man) apart from protecting yourself or a friend/relative. I would only NOT blame him if he was raping her, which he wasn't. 

Also, why is it ok to hit a man and not a woman. Violence is wrong no matter the gender.

Back on topic, whilst being cheated on is never nice, violence is not the answer. I mean for a start, it just makes all men look bad, to add insult to injury, this also makes gamers look bad.
