A generation ahead of the Wii isn't very impressive, in my opinion. A generation ahead of the HD twins is another thing. But that's no biggie for me really. It's more powerful than both and unlike some I'm actually content with the late offerings from both consoles this gen, so if the Wii U can at least do what they're currently doing then that's fine.

I am sure you said the same thing about the Wii when that first come out, "The wii is not underpowered, its just less powerfull than its competitors." Listen out kid, for two gens nintendo has done this now. What are you going to say when next gen starts, "the Wii-us is not underpowered, its just less powerfull than its competitors."

I dont understand what peoples problem is. If you are ok with the graphics of the new nintendo console, fine. Jus dont moan if everone does not share the same opinion.

Everyone else on this thread, i dont know why you are talking about graphics whores because i remember back in the PS2 days gamecube owners were only too happy to mention the better graphics of RE4 bla bla bla. 

I do like nintendo games, just not the consoles. I got the Wii but when it got cheap. The hardware just isnt worth thr asking price. ( in my opinion )

So so sad that to Nintendo fans the lower powered console is almost advertised as a good thing. Stop buying the corporate speak. The WiiU console (just the box, not the controller or games) is literally inferior in every single way to the Xbox One and PS4. There can be no argument about that at all.

The Nintendo fans may say that the games produced by Nintendo and the controller are experiences that cannot be matched. That is a perfectly valid opinion, and many of the software sales and fan and professional reviews over the years back it up.

HOWEVER, there was nothing preventing Nintendo from selling modern hardware AND releasing their style of games. It is not either or. Nintendo made the conscious decision to sell an under powered console to save money on hardware and development costs. That is not a feature, that is not Nintendo marching to the beat of their own drummer, or Nintendo focusing on games rather than frills.

I love Nintendo to death and miss the mini Nintendo (Rare), but I am tired of the either/or arguments. And it is even worse to hear Nintendo fans passing them on.

- N64, we could have great games, or we could have great music and voice acting as with PS
- GCN - great games or DVD playback and internet as with PS2
- Wii - great games and motion control or modern graphics as with 360 or PS3
- Wii U - great games and touch controls or modern graphics as with One or PS4

I am a consumer and I want it all.

You should really drop this. In terms of power, the Wii U is a lot closer to the PS360 than PS4/X1. This is a fact, and everyone else has come to terms with this.

If you so badly want a powerful console, why not just buy a PS4 or X1? The best parts of a Nintendo console aren't graphics or power anyway, and if you don't see that then you are missing out on what they really offer.

If you're going to be uber-hardware-nerd about things, it's technically more than a generation ahead of Wii, because Wii, while more powerful than the GC or even Xbox, wasn't on par with the 360 or PS3. The Wii U, other than the underclocked CPU, is more advanced and modern tech than either of those consoles.

wii was an overclocked gamecube hardware wise, that's all there is to it. wii u actually has everything new with much more advanced cpu/gpu and ram memory than ps360.

wii is the same gen of the sub hd twins so that's redundant.
