Forums - Sony - PS Vita remote play with ANY PS3/PC game

reported by Eurogamer, the feat is performed by way of a hack to the PlayStation 3's firmware. Users must jailbreak their PS3s and
then install firmware v3.55. In this version of the PS3's operating system, the PS Vita is regarded as a mobile phone.

Awesome right?? theres this and theres a way to do remote play with PC! those are the reason i want a vita. this seems way better than project shield.

Heres a link for PC remote play(minecraft): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlU59sy0B3g

If you were wondering, there is a way to do both of them with the PSP but its harder to control since it doesnt have second anolog stick

Edited: installing custom firmware you have to have firmware 3.55 (or lower of course), if you have little to no experience with modding i really dont recommend doing it. Lucky for you the ps vita remote play to PC doesnt require modding so try that! (which personally i think is way better)

Impressive.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

PC remote desktop app? Aw yiss, as soon as I get home this will get installed. Playing Kingdom Hearts 2 and Birth By Sleep on my PSVita? Yes please

Cool, but i don't want to hack my PS3 :(

Does that work with the current firmware ? Some of the videos I found on this said it wasn't working anymore.

Certainly the PS3 stuff isn't new, but I have no interest in hacking my consoles

Yeah... why doesnt Sony does this for us? I'm not gonna hack my PS3 either.

If it works with the PC, it would be most awesome if it worked with TERA.

I would like to know where LR2 and LR3 are assigned to though. Somewhere on the touch pads i assume.

Once again the hacking community saves a Sony portable. The only thing that kept the PSP alive was homebrew

Current Game Machines: 3DS, Wii U, PC.

Currently Playing: X-Com(PC), Smash Bros(WiiU), Banner Saga(PC), Guild Wars 2(PC), Project X Zone(3DS), Luigis Mansion 2(3DS), DayZ(PC)

probably because the PS3 games that don't directly support remote play don't account for the resources (CPU time/ram usage etc) the encoding of a videostream and sending it to PSV takes, so these games may suffer from bugs, framerate drops and crashes
