Forums - Gaming - Looking for a secondary console

Since you are getting a PS4, a PS Vita is the obvious choice since you can play any PS4 game on it remotely.

If you don't want to play PS4 games on the go though, you may as well get a 3DS

If you own a PS3, get a PS VITA
If you own an X360, get a Wii U or a PS3
If you own a Wii, get a PS3
If you own a 3DS, get a Wii U

If I was you I'd get a 3DS now and get a Vita down the line, imo it will get a price drop and I would wait to see how the Vita-PS4 integrattion workds out.  Also the 3DS has so many great games, I would get it soon before there's too many games and you can't play them all.

To tell the truth, I think now isn't the best moment to buy a console anyway. Sony will probably cut the price of Vita soon (Gamescom? Killzone: Mercenaries release?) and I have a feeling Nintendo will release a 3DSi or something similar soon :P But all in all I recommend a Vita. If you have PS+, it will be much cheaper if you count the games you get.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I would suggest you buy a Wii. It's dirt cheap and it has tons of awesome great games on it. The Mario & Zelda games alone justifies the purchase of the console.

If you want a backwards compatible Wii, don't get the "Wii Family Edition", get the older model.

3DS would be my nomination. It's a really great console, and you can find one for pretty cheap.

I don't know what games you like, but the 3DS has a great library of RPGs which will only get bigger. I'd say the 3DS is the best console to get if you're looking for a "Japanese" experience.

Get a 3DS. It has enough great games on it's own, and when you count it has DS backwards compatibility, if you like JRPGs, you're probably set for the next 10 years LOL

If you are already planning on getting a wii u, just get it now. You can play any wii u games that may interest you, as well as all the great wii games. If x interests you than you could check out xenoblade and probably the last story.

Since you are getting a Wii U, the 3DS could accompany that. Same with the Vita accompanying the PS4.

Although, since the Vita has no games. that interest you, I would recommend the 3DS. There are many, many games on the 3DS that could catch you up to the "current" Nintendo. The Wii U is also Wii back-wards compatible.

Only question is, do you still own a GameCube?
