So some people have been able to get 5000 series working on X370. It's a rumour for now but maybe someone will put out a custom bios to make it work if AIBs don't.https://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-5000-zen-3-desktop-cpus-running-on-a320-x370-motherboards-b450-support-added/

Going to invest in a new CPU soon. Hopefully I can do that without replacing my motherboard. My Gigabyte X370 is ready lol

For all the people planning on getting 5000 series Ryzen a interesting video on how memory configuration is affecting performance and not in the typical timing/frequency way but how many Dims are used.

The testing in this video focus on 2x8 vs 4x8 single ranked.  I think more testing need to be done for higher memory modules and single vs dual rank memory to get a full picture but it a good first look especially if you planning on 8gb modules it might be worth the cost to get 4 instead of 2. For 16gb and 32gb I would like to see some testing reviews on.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like things haven't changed much since Zen2, where dual vs quad memory modules also played a role in the performance of the system. But maybe this time it's even more important, as those differences are huge, almost as much as what you could get from overclocking the CPU itself.

Already knew that from their previous testing of RAM. That's why I don't feel bad for paying a high premium for 4x8GB 3600 CL14 RAM. Now I just need to see a test that confirms that 3600 is just as good as 3800.

While Zen3 sussports up to 4000MHz kits, I doubt you'll be able to find a better kit than the one you've already selected. 3600 CL14 is better than 3800 CL16. It was for Zen2 and I'm sure it will be again for Zen3.

There's always someone trying to achieve what can't be done.

In any case, even if there's a custom or een official BIOS that allows that, I would be wary and don't go for anything higher than an 8-core processor. Those boards weren't designed for more than that and the power delivery system may not be up to the task.

By the way, if any of you likes modded PCs with all the crazy things that can be done, and also like watercooling, here's something for you: a watercooled PC with not a single tube!

The project is, aptly called, Tubeless build.

And if you want to know how the hell he did it, specially the CPU waterblock, here's a video:

It's crazy what can be done with acrylic and a CNC machine.

I received my 3070 on Sunday, along with a bag of haribo that Overclockers decided to put in my parcel.

The Gpu works really well, all my games are now running at 4k 60fps besides from FFXV. Speaking of FFXV, as I tested that game, I noticed that my poor i7 4790k was running at 98c which is concerning, perhaps it's time I replace the intel stock cooler.

Grats on your new graphics card. Can't remember the last I ordered from OcUK.. its cool they still include sweets with their orders lol. And yeah 98c is quite hot, might want consider a new cooler, even a cheapo will be a huge improvement over stock.

Hoping to get a hold of a 6800XT this year though I don't hold much hope for that!

Looks like stock is becoming more available these days. At least the shitty cards nobody wants are staying in stock.Sadly still no sight of any 5900X. Didn't AMD say that they won't have stock issues?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Okay, that tubeless build looks freakin masterful and I absolutely want a model like that.

Thing looks sleek and compact as fuck.
