Pure Farming 2018 wants you to meet its 'Heroes of the Farm'
http://www.pcgamer.com/pure-farming-2018-wants-you-to-meet-its-heroes-of-the-farm/
Earlier this year, the artist formally known as Pure Farming 2017: The Simulator renamed and rebranded itself as Pure Farming 2018. Techland and Ice Flames' forthcoming farm 'em up now has a new trailer that showcases the machines you'll be touring around the long grass this March.

You can turn into a bush in Fortnite Battle Royale now, and it's as stupid as it is incredible
http://www.pcgamer.com/you-can-turn-into-a-bush-in-fortnite-battle-royale-now-and-its-as-stupid-as-it-is-incredible/
A recent update to Fornite Battle Royale introduces a new potion that turns the player into a bush, and it's completely uprooted the meta. Based on a short search for good bush clips, I fear Fortnite Battle Royale is going to pull me back in, morphing into some weird combination of PUBG with the goofy toolset of Team Fortress 2.

Star Wars Battlefront 2 loot crate prices revealed
http://www.pcgamer.com/star-wars-battlefront-2-loot-crate-prices-revealed/
Star Wars Battlefront 2 won't be out for another week—November 17—but the Play First trial on Origin Access is available right now. We're about to jump in, but thanks to the good people at Eurogamer, we can now see for certain how the game's loot box system works, and more to the point, what they cost.

Activision has been sued by the maker of the Humvee over the Call of Duty series
http://www.pcgamer.com/activision-has-been-sued-by-the-maker-of-the-humvee-over-the-call-of-duty-series/
You may not know AM General, but you know what it does: It makes the Humvee, the iconic vehicle that replaced US military jeeps back in the '80s. Everywhere the US Army goes, it rides in Humvees: In movies, on the television, and of course in videogames, including the Call of Duty series. According to a recently-filed lawsuit, however, Activision never actually had permission to use it.

>>It's surprising that they're doing it now, when CoD goes back to WWII, but how could Activision make such a "mistake"?

Obsidian appears to be teasing a new game on Twitter
http://www.pcgamer.com/obsidian-appears-to-be-teasing-a-new-game-on-twitter/
Obsidian Entertainment has made a lot of games since it was founded in 2003, Kotor 2, South Park: The Stick of Truth, and Pillars of Eternity among them. In fact, thanks to a recent, helpful post from Obsidian itself, you can get the full list on Twitter.
There are some really good games on there, but the most interesting bit is down at the bottom: The "???"

Rainbow Six Siege: Operation White Noise trailer shows off forthcoming map
http://www.pcgamer.com/rainbow-six-siege-operation-white-noise-trailer-shows-off-forthcoming-map/
Rainbow Six Siege's forthcoming expansion, Operation White Noise, is shaping up to be among the best. And why do I think that? Just check out the new Mok Myeok Tower in the video above. It's visually impressive, but just look at how open and vertical it is. And come to think of it, I've no idea how the attackers will actually penetrate the building. Will they enter via the roof?

Nvidia news. Ampere (evolution of Volta) is coming Q1 2018. Exciting stuff.. maybe now 4k gaming with 100hz+ is doable.

According to Heise.de (Google tranlated)

"At the end of the third quarter, Nvidia unveiled the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti , positioned between the GeForce GTX 1070 and GeForce GTX 1080 gaming graphics cards already available. The GTX-1000 graphics cards are all based on Pascal series GPUs. Information on upcoming GPU generation, which should appear under the name "ampere", there should be the GPU Technology Conference 2018."

^ For the enterprise/supercomputers market, maybe. I doubt they'll reach the consumer market before 2019 when Volta still hasn't done it.

It might be the other way round. Volta staying enterprise and Ampere for the consumer devices.

Ampere could be a stripped down Volta, designed for gaming/mining performance and Volta for big data crunching (servers, AI etc) with its tensor cores.

We will see early next year.. Want to see how well the GTX 2070/2080 performs.

Possible but, imho, doubtful. Volta can be rolled into consumer products by stripping it from all those tensor blocks it has for compute tasks and pairing it with GDDR5X or 6.

After all, if they can't bring Volta down to the consumer level, they can simply launch a Pascal refresh on a smaller node with faster clocks and still reign over AMD... unless Navi proves to be a surprise hit. That's what they did with Kepler (even without a new node) and it worked really well for them.

Read and cry:

Thermaltake Announces X Comfort Air Gaming Chair With Active Cooling
https://www.techpowerup.com/238717/thermaltake-announces-x-comfort-air-gaming-chair-with-active-cooling
So yes, Thermaltake is paying attention to consumers from tropical and desert climates all over the world with its latest gaming chair. The X Comfort Air is a new gaming chair that sports active cooling, whether your environment requires it, or you're just going through a really aberrant, hot day. The cooling system leverages four high-pressure fans, embedded in the base of the chair (perforated faux-leather that permits airflow from the three-speed fans.) Thermaltake claimed that the system can cool the seat by between 0.6ºC and 1.5ºC. The noise level of the fans is stated as 32 DB(A), but Thermaltake didn't specify the correlating fan speed for this.

The X Comfort Air gaming chair is available in red or black options, both going for $500.

There are so many things that I could say. Would you really pay $500 for having your ass 1.5ºC cooler? And more important, would you buy a chair that needs to be connected to your PC in order to make the fans work? (unless they're powered by a battery).

SALES & "SALES"/DEALS

Football Manager 2018 heads Steam Top Sellers chart
http://www.pcgamer.com/football-manager-2018-heads-steam-top-sellers-chart/
Football Manager 2018 arrived last week, bringing with it a number of new systems that make it the most ambitious entry in years. I like it, and it seems a lot of folk elsewhere feel the same—given the fact FM 2018 tops Steam's Top Sellers chart, at the time of writing.

>>And it no longer is, which shows how useless this article is. The list I've found tells a different story:

  1. Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds
  2. Call of Duty: WWII
  3. Football Manager 2018
  4. Borderlands 2: Game of the Year
  5. Assassin’s Creed: Origins
  6. Nioh: Complete Edition
  7. Rocket League
  8. Sid Meier’s Civilization V: Complete
  9. Deadpool
  10. Counter Strike: Global Offensive

The number of games released on Steam this year has topped 6,000, according to analyst Daniel Ahmad, of Niko Partners. That's the most ever on the platform—around 1,500 more than last year and almost as many as the total number of games released between 2005 and 2015.

Crysis is now 10 years old and here are the best graphics mods you can install for it
http://www.dsogaming.com/news/crysis-now-10-years-old-best-graphics-mods-can-install/
Ah, Crysis. One of the most unique PC FPS experiences back in 2007. Crytek’s masterpiece was way ahead of its time visually, and came with some truly great gameplay mechanics. Its level design, its enemy AI, its nanosuit abilities; everything felt great. And since today it’s its 10th anniversary, we’ve decided to share with you the best graphics mods you can use for it.

>>But will you be able to run them? . Check the article to see them.

Assassin’s Creed is now 10 years old and here are the best mods you can install for it
http://www.dsogaming.com/news/assassins-creed-now-10-years-old-mods-can-install/
Alongside Crysis, Assassin’s Creed has also turned 10 years old today. Assassin’s Creed offered an open-world area that players could explore, and I still consider it one of the best AC games. While it could become a bit boring, it had great gameplay mechanics and I liked Altair.

>>I can't believe AC is as old as Crysis. Anyway, check the mods at the link.

Yeap, as we’ve already said, microtransactions – and loot boxes – are here to stay. According to Take Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick, the gaming industry is now all about recurrent consumer spending and not about game sales.

Part 2 of the news:

Decksplash, Bossa's multiplayer skateboarding sim, is cancelled
http://www.pcgamer.com/decksplash-bossas-multiplayer-skateboarding-sim-is-cancelled/
Bossa Studios announced Decksplash back near the start of the year, and it looked quite promising: "The Rocket League of skateboarding," we called it, following some hands-on time with an alpha build in May. But in October, the studio dropped an ultimatum: If it didn't attract at least 100,000 players during a free week set to begin on November 2, the whole thing would be cancelled.

Seven: The Days Long Gone explains how you'll traverse its multi-tiered world
http://www.pcgamer.com/seven-the-days-long-gone-explains-how-youll-traverse-its-multi-tiered-world/
Seven: The Days Long Gone is a gorgeous feat of world design, said Tyler after going hands-on with IMGN.PRO and Fool's Theory's isometric RPG last year. It's since teased a fair bit more of its stealthy murder—and now wants to showcase its traversal and movement mechanics.

http://www.pcgamer.com/star-wars-battlefront-2-adds-finn-phasma-and-new-single-player-story-missions-in-december/
Star Wars Battlefront 2 won't arrive for another week, but Electronic Arts has already unveiled what players have to look forward to in a free update coming in December. Beginning on December 5, players will have the opportunity to sign up for either the First Order or the Resistance, which will lead into faction-based challenges with "special rewards."

Bungie says Destiny 2 clan chat is 'one of our highest priorities'
http://www.pcgamer.com/bungie-says-destiny-2-clan-chat-is-one-of-our-highest-priorities/
I've been sinking quite a bit of time into Destiny 2, as you do, and really enjoying it overall. But I find it endlessly annoying that it's so tremendously difficult to communicate with anyone. I am literally surrounded by other players, and all I can do is The Macarena. Even connecting with clanmates is an unnecessary hassle.

Injustice 2 DLC will add The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
http://www.pcgamer.com/injustice-2-dlc-adds-the-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles/
It's been a quick turnaround for superhero brawler Injustice 2: we found out that the previously console-only fighter was coming to PC last month, and following a short public beta its launch is only three days away. Ahead of that, developer NetherRealm Studios has revealed the fighters arriving in the game's third DLC pack, and they include The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Cowabunga!

Hunting system in battle royale game The Darwin Project lets you track enemy footprints
http://www.pcgamer.com/hunting-system-in-battle-royale-game-the-darwin-project-lets-you-track-enemy-footprints/
The developers of The Darwin Project, the upcoming battle royale game, want to make combat as frequent as possible. "In other games, the most fun part of the experience is when you're fighting other players, but this represents less than 10% of the match," they point out in the video above. To change that formula the game will have multiple features aimed at making it easier to spot and track other players, including footstep trails and fires that you can see for miles around.

http://www.pcgamer.com/dev-diary-shows-how-star-citizens-alpha-30-will-make-space-travel-more-hollywood/

Train tycoon sim Railway Empire on track for January arrival
http://www.pcgamer.com/train-tycoon-sim-railway-empire-on-track-for-january-arrival/
Railway Empire is a tycoon sim about building up a rail network in the mid-19th century Unites States. You plonk down stations, micromanage routes, choose which staff to hire and fire, and upgrade your trains with on-board toilets and padded seats. Publisher Kalypso (of the more recent Tropico games) has announced that it's due to arrive on January 26.

CD Projekt Red has no plans for a fourth Witcher but will 'probably' return to the world someday
http://www.pcgamer.com/cd-projekt-red-has-no-plans-for-a-fourth-witcher-but-will-probably-return-to-the-world-someday/
Dreams of The Witcher 4 will probably never become reality, judging by the words of CD Projekt chief executive Adam Kiciński.
He told Polish site Strefa Inwestorow that the developer has no plans for Geralt to make a comeback because The Witcher was envisaged as a trilogy, and the third game provided a definitive end to his story.

VR horror RPG Left-Hand Path screams out of Early Access
http://www.pcgamer.com/vr-horror-rpg-left-hand-path-screams-out-of-early-access/
The idea of a VR horror game terrifies me—I have enough trouble making it through a horror game in a well-lit room with my own music blaring. But as an example of the genre, Left-Hand Path seems a decent one, and has been getting good user reviews on Steam. It blends VR horror with RPG elements inspired by the Dark Souls series into a 15-hour story in which you cast spells by drawing runes in the air with your hands.

It performed well at launch, received warm reviews, and thereafter addressed some lingering issues. Now, it's announced another soon-to-be PC debutante will fight in the King of the Iron First Tournament next year: Final Fantasy 15's main protagonist Noctis.

http://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-ww2-dev-addresses-online-issues-wants-to-reinforce-commitment-to-pc-fans/
In his review, James reckoned Call of Duty: WW2's solo campaign failed to do history justice, but that its multiplayer "recalls the glory days of Modern Warfare." Server issues have however marred its social features—and developer Sledgehammer Games has now addressed how it plans to fix them, and when we might expect the forthcoming PC patch.

Going indie was a 'genuine watershed moment' for IO Interactive
http://www.pcgamer.com/going-indie-was-a-genuine-watershed-moment-for-io-interactive-hitman-has-shaped-creation-of-future-new-universes/
In conversation with gamesindustry.biz, IO CEO Hakan Abrak describes the decision to go it alone as "a genuine watershed moment" for he and his colleagues—one which will inform the developer's games into the future.
