The one thing to remember about 580s vs 1080Ti sales though is that miners bought them like craycray and the gpu prices went up. And I doubt miners are doing the steam hardware survey so the stats might be skewed a bit.

b00tl3g kr3w is a free game about pirating software in the '90s
http://www.pcgamer.com/b00tl3g-kr3w-is-a-free-game-about-pirating-software-in-the-90s/
When my family first got a modem for our 486 it took us a while to figure out that, with this modem, it was possible to acquire software for free. But once we made this discovery, we went at it hard: setting up downloads that could sometimes take weeks in order to get our hands on [redacted]. The fact that, most of the time, these downloads wouldn't work, or they'd be riddled with viruses, was almost part of the fun.
Anyway, this free itch.io game b00tl3g kr3w is a harkening back to that era. You play as a pirate and must collaborate with other pirates in order to upload cracked games including riffs on Mario and Sonic. It's not a long game, but it's a nice little period piece and it's created by the guy behind Shower With Your Dad Simulator. So you know it's going to be good. It's very funny.

Red Dead Redemption 2 may not come to the PC
http://www.dsogaming.com/news/red-dead-redemption-2-may-not-come-to-pc/
Red Dead Redemption 2 being one of the most hunted games for news has perhaps copped a small blow as Rockstar’s parent publisher Take-Two says it believes in the PC market but doesn’t know if Red Dead Redemption 2 will be on it.

>>Given how Take Two/Rockstar have treated PC gamers in the recent years, this won't surprise. What surprises me is that no one has made a thread about this yet, given how eager are some users on this site to throw sh!t to PC gaming.

Psychic Readers Network sues Rockstar over Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
http://www.pcgamer.com/psychic-readers-network-sues-rockstar-over-grand-theft-auto-vice-city/
It's been 15 years since the release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. But in spite of all those years gone by, Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive were slapped with a lawsuit over the game just last week—by the Psychic Readers Network, no less. According to a report by The Wrap, the group claims that Vice City character Auntie Poulet violates its copyright on the once-famed television psychic Miss Cleo.

Usain Bolt will feature in Pro Evolution Soccer 2018
http://www.pcgamer.com/usain-bolt-will-feature-in-pro-evolution-soccer-2018/
Against its fiercest digital football simulating rival FIFA, Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer series has come on leaps and bounds in recent years. Despite Lee Hall's respective reviews, I actually preferred the latter's latest offering, despite its distinct and enduring lack of official licensing.
The next and imminent PES will unfortunately follow suit on that front, but will feature the multi-medal winning Jamaican sprinter—and the world's fastest man—Usain Bolt as a player and preorder bonus. Boots, kit, shin guards and all.

Assassin's Creed: Origins factions will spontaneously fight—or hug, if they're pals
http://www.pcgamer.com/assassins-creed-origins-factions-will-spontaneously-fightor-hug-if-theyre-pals/
Assassin's Creed: Origins game director Ashraf Ismail spoke last month about the game's cities, Memphis and Alexandria, saying that the studio put in a hefty amount of research about ancient Egyptian society so it could properly "bring Egypt to life." More recently, he told GamesRadar that the game's factions will be a big part of that liveliness too, not because of their richness and diversity, but because they really like to fight.

'Player-curated' Featured Contracts are coming to Hitman this month
http://www.pcgamer.com/player-curated-featured-contracts-are-coming-to-hitman-this-month/
The final Hitman Elusive Target has (hopefully) been dispatched, but there's still plenty of killing to be done. Developer Io Interactive announced today that the August content schedule will see a new Challenge Pack added to the game, along with ten new Featured Contracts and also the first-ever batch of "player-curated" Featured Contracts.

Spartan Fist gameplay trailer features flying fists and exploding heads
http://www.pcgamer.com/spartan-fist-gameplay-trailer-features-flying-fists-and-exploding-heads/
First revealed back in May, Spartan Fist is a voxel-based first-person arena brawler in which you play Emma Jones, a police detective with super powers who punches people in the face so hard that they literally explode. Don't worry, though, because she's doing it for a good cause: Money and fame.

Rocket League adds 20-word Language Ban system that will 'evolve over time'
http://www.pcgamer.com/rocket-league-adds-20-word-language-ban-system-that-will-evolve-over-time/
As its community continues to grow, people are getting ridiculously good at Rocket League. But the downside of an ever-growing playerbase is an unfortunately inevitable increase of abusive players. "The cornerstone of addressing in-game harassment is our 'Player Mute' and 'Report' systems," says Psyonix in a new blog post—which is something the developer's new 'Language Ban' hopes to address even further.

Conan Exiles free 'Frozen North' expansion release date set
http://www.pcgamer.com/conan-exiles-free-frozen-north-expansion-release-date-set/
First teased back in June, Conan Exiles has now officially unveiled its free and incoming 'Frozen North' expansion.
Due August 16, the add-on delivers a new biome to the Exiles world—almost doubling its size—that boasts some suitably harsh weather conditions. In turn, players are required to "dress for the weather" while campfires, torches and drinks serve to help them control their temperatures.

Epitasis is a cool exploration puzzle game about ancient tech and alien worlds
http://www.pcgamer.com/epitasis-is-a-cool-exploration-puzzle-game-about-ancient-tech-and-alien-worlds/
Epitasis is a lovely-looking exploration game about alien worlds and ancient technology that sort of echoes the likes of The Talos Principle, Myst and No Man's Sky. It's crowdfunding at the moment—having accrued $6,432 of its $11,650 goal, at the time of writing—and has a free and distinctly polished alpha build demo.

The situation nowadays is so weird. Every year (even month!) there are more japanese developers jumping to the PC wagon and launch their games on PC/Steam, but western devs seem to be the opposite, focusing more and more on consoles and leaving the PC version as an afterthought if not completely canceling it.

Their rabbling on about it being a "core market" for them is nothing but PR talk through and through. This is the same parent company that claimed GTA V wasn't being monitizxed enough and how they and R* went against the modding community as a whole due to the threat on their shark card busienss, their main goal of siphoning even more cash from gamers within the game.

It's a good thing there is a RDR style MMO coming out for PC, because it means we have something of a spaghetti Western game to play, while also being able to fully ignore T2/R* until they decide to get their shit into egar and their heads fully out of their arses.

I can easily see T2 waiting another 2, maybe 3 years of a dated and basic port job of RDR 2, complete with multiplayer focus, shark cards and the typical "PC ultra mega super duper graffix!" trailer, like they did with GTA V. I could hardly care much for R*/T2 at this point, they like to fight against what I want and they want me to play by their rules and wait a very long time for basic port jobs, I'd rather give my money to a company who actually treats me with respect and actually delivers in full without gouging for more.

Step right up come on in, feel the buzz in your veins, I'm like an chemical electrical right into your brain and I'm the one who killed the Radio, soon you'll all see

So pay up motherfuckers you belong to "V"

That won't happen. They did that with GTA V because they were also doing the PS4/X1 ports, but that won't happen this time.

I think that after the backlash they got from that awful GTA IV port, something at Rockstar, Take 2 or both changed and decided that PC didn't deserve that much efford because they already had consoles where all the framerate problems, bugs and other things weren't problems for those who buy their games.
