A good take on the whole GPU mining siutation going on.

The main thing I'm not happy with in this video, is the companeis deciding to hide their indentities, so they don['t have to suffer lsos of brand loyalty or getting hate mail.

I was expecting at least one company to be overall happy with the current situation and it turns out there was at least one company in the vid, I'd love to know who they are though, to think that it's good that general gaming consumers are egtting diddled over while non brand loyal miners are abusing RMA's and basically ripping off other consumers as well as the vendors.

I honestly wish the miners would jog on, because it's not benefiting the entire industry, it's them just making digital currency off of hardware and then dumping it to the side. I get that people use Youtube as a means to make a living, but at least those people are providing knowledge as wella s entertainment, these guys are just mining for the sake of money and nothing more, like their current job doesn't pay them enough so they are too lazy to ask for a raise or make a stand. Hell they clearly cba finding a better paying job either.

Well for better or for worse, the only good thing to come out of these miners is that people are buying these video cards which is good for AMD. Cause if vega comes out and the mining craze continues and lets say Vega doesn't perform all that well but it's great at mining, AMD can live another day.

For the consumers tho, it really sucks

A recently discovered prototype for a SNES version of Rayman is now playable on PC – but you'll need an emulator. The prototype was uploaded by developer Omar Cornut, founder of Lizardcube, whose recent Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap remaster is a best case example of how remakes should be done.
To run it, you'll need to download the prototype via Dropbox, and then run it with whatever SNES emulator you're using – apparently it'll work with most.

It tells the strange tale of a man named Ian, a "highly decorated ex-elite soldier" who is now in pursuit of the people who performed secret experiments on him in a dark prison in Europe.

Off the back of last week's character-shrinking mode, this week's Killing Floor 2 Weekly Outbreak flips the switch, giving enemies and players enormous heads. In a game that strongly favors headshots, this is an unexpected gift. Why did "Big Head Mode" ever go out of style, anyway?

I think it's not even that good for AMD, because those cards aren't used for gaming and, thanks to all the surveys and that stuff, what publishers and devs see is gamers using more and more Nvidia cards.

Well I was referring to the RX vega that's coming out eventually not the Vega that's already out.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

The thing is though, the video mentions one company stating that they would rather have a 10 year loyal customer, than one who simply buys 10 GPU's and that's it entirely. This would hurt a company like AMD if miners simply snatched up 10 RX Vegas and then called it a decade vs those who want an RX vega but can't buy one due to miners and generally get put off and shop from Nvidia or even like the video mentioned, the possibility of some going back to consoles.

I honestly find miners to be more of a problem group than any other out there. Yes they will benefit *a* company in the short term, but the long term means they will suffer greatly as those miners will either be gone or somewhere else, meaning that company has hardly any loyal customers left, all because miners drove them to somewhere else less frustrating.

I don't think general consumers like the idea of short supply and higher spike price hikes for GPu's, Miners don't care because they are making dosh from mining and selling to chumps.

I know, and those are the cards I'm talking about.

If Vega is a success among miners and they buy lots of them, the gaming marcketshare will only change in favor of Nvidia (because their cards aren't as productive as AMD ones), and that will make the gap between AMD and Nvidia that we see in Conina's Steam Stats grow more and more. And the same will happen with the data that publishers and developers collect through their games when they scan our PC to know what's the best setup for the game in our machine (because I think they send that data to the publisher to know, for example, what kind of optimisations/fixes should be given a priority).

So yes, if Vega is a success among miners, AMD will make money from their cards as they'll sell all they have, but that will hurt them in the long term because pub/devs will focus more and more on optimising their games for Nvidia's hardware as that what their data tells them that most gamers use.
