Auroch Digital’s adaptation of Chainsaw Warrior has arrived on Steam. I hadn’t heard of the game until the digital version was announced but I don’t think I’m alone in having this particular gap in my Games Workshop knowledge. It’s a solo card game, in which the player must save New York from the ‘orrible monsters that are spilling through a dimensional tear in Manhattan. Encounter cards are drawn from a deck, and usually involve a zombie or a mutant that requires a swift chainsaw to the face. Every action takes up 30 seconds of in-game time and when a full hour has passed, Darkness consumes the city. Devilishly difficult, it seems a game of luck and theme rather than skill and strategy. Trailer below.
I had a ruddy great time with Wizard Wars. It’s team game take on Magicka’s versus mode is one of the most batshit brilliant versus games I’ve played. News that its preorders have begun, then, is good news.
(Let’s not question the whole preordering a free-to-play game thing.)
Warface’s women are not kitted out for warfare. Bosoms bare to the elements and opting to leave the flack jacket at home to show off their figure, you can’t help but think Crytek may have made a mistake in listening to the community when it came to designing the lady characters.
“They wanted the women to be not what we would think of as realistic at all. Up to and including running round in high heels,” Joshua Howard, the game’s executive producer, told Wired.

Keeping an eye on "The Wolf Among Us" as the premise seems exiting.

I just wonder if it's worth playing without being familiar with the source material. I did like The Walking Dead without reading the comic (did watch the TV show) so I guess this would probably be ok.

Yea i don't know much about the source material either. They'll probably bring same sort of elements from Walking Dead that people loved. Interesting characters, quick decision making and other story twists that one doesn't see coming. Oh and good voice acting. Well hoping for all of them.
Hey i got a random question. So i was recently playing Metro Last Light. The default setting when game starts is 1080 resolution with graphical settings at low. Half way across the game i tried a lower setting of 1300 by 768 and i could bump the graphic presets to high. It kind of ended up looking more sharper. I think i sort of answered my own question but isn't that better way to go. Lower resolution and bump up graphics to medium or high if possible. Thanks.

Yea, TWD was pretty self contained with an (mostly) origonal cast of characters where as I am pretty sure that TWAU is the actual cast of the comics which is what gives me pause.
As for you question well whatever works best for you is the best way to go. If a lower resolution plus higher settings in other areas looks better to you then go with that. Generaly for myself I like to keep the resolution native (same resolution) to my screen if possible and then tweak individul settings until I find a good balance between performance and image quality. I have a reasonably powerful machine (tho it is getting a bit dated these days lol and games like Watch Dogs etc are getting ever more demanding on the higher settings) tho so I don't usually have to sacrifice much in most games.

“With Grand Theft Auto I don’t think it’ll be console exclusive very long,” said Chris R. Silva, Intel’s Director of Marketing. “But that’s what happens when you have a brand new launch with two companies that have lots of money trying to make sure they have content.” “Somebody paid a lot of money to make sure that title was exclusive.” |

A little interesting IMHO.

This is the latest in the series of articles about the art technology of games, in collaboration with the particularly handsome Dead End Thrills.
Games move pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you might miss them. The pretties this week come courtesy not of a particular game, nor indeed me, but of the Dead End Thrills Flickr group, a caravan of some 500+ ‘players’ who spend more time stopping games and looking around than they do actually playing. The times we live in.
With some 11,000 images in there, I wasn’t sure how best to approach this. (Drunk, obviously, but how badly?) I’ve gone for the easy option: a round-up of games and/or users that stood out over the last few weeks. What you’ll often find is that wrangling games into ‘screenshot mode’ has knock-on benefits for any PC gamer, so let’s see if that holds true.

@ The Chainsaw Warrior game: Wow, I looked the trailer as from the description it looked like a mix of "Evil Dead"/ "Escape from New York", but my God, it looks awful.
Please excuse my bad English.

The extraordinary one-man project, Universum: War Front, rather significantly caught our eye yesterday. Looking like an RTS from a team of 30 made over two years, this action-strategy is impossibly the work of just Cyril Megem, under the title of StarworksArt Studio. When Jim posted about it yesterday, he was just over halfway to his modest $20,000 goal. By this morning he’s already well past it, with 23 days to go. I’ve a feeling this is going to be one of those times when a developer ends up with a whole lot more money than he was expecting. There’s new footage below.
