Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Thing is will the 1060 let alone ti model be a decent and worthy bump up from the current 980ti?, I just don't feel like it's going to be worth £6-700 for a slight bump.

C'mon! Why does the 1060 have to beat the 980Ti? Be happy if it beats the 970 (which is about 60% faster than the current 960...). Oh, and it won't cost anywhere near £600.

Do I have to be deadly serious or mildly?.

Dual 980Ti is fine, but why were you expecting the 1060 to be faster than a 980Ti? That has never happened before, as far as I know.

I plan on upgrading my GPU again this year also.
But then i was thinking about upgrading my MB, since this one has my CPU locked so i cant overclock it.
Do you guys think id be better off buying a new MB this year?, so i can overclock my 2500K cpu and stick with my 280x for now and buy a new GPU next year, or would i be better off upgrading my gpu this year and leaving the mb for another year??.

I doubt that your CPU is the bottleneck, just upgrade your GPU.

That, and the 2500K is a socket 1155 chip. I don't know how easy or hard will be finding a compatible motherboard that also allows overclocking.
