Forget this GTA 6 stuff, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 just got a hot new update
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/forget-this-gta-6-stuff-baldurs-gate-1-and-2-just-got-a-hot-new-update/
There's a lot going on this week, folks. Monday saw a thick glut of Steam Machine news, and today Rockstar switched on the Grand Theft Auto 6 info-hose. I am here to tell you not to care about any of it. Here's the real story: Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 have got new patches.
Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate 2: Enhanced Edition, and Icewind Dale—Edition? You better believe it's Enhanced—all just got a new 2.7 patch courtesy of Beamdog. This is the patch that entered beta last February, now available for all and sundry. Well, I suppose the beta was also available to all and sundry, but now all and sundry are getting it whether they click a button or not.

You can finally turn Riot's Vanguard anti-cheat off when you're not playing a game
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/you-can-finally-turn-riots-vanguard-anti-cheat-off-when-youre-not-playing-a-game/
Riot Games is making a big change to its Vanguard anti-cheat system: After an update set to go live today (and which may already be live by the time you read this) it will not launch when your PC boots up, but will instead will be "on demand," meaning it will only run when playing a game and will shut down once the gameplay is over.
>> The fact that it always ran in the background until now baffles me. How the F did the players not revolt over this BS?!

18-year-old strategy game King's Bounty: The Legend just got a quality-of-life update, as well as achievements and a Steam Workshop for mods
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/strategy/18-year-old-strategy-game-kings-bounty-the-legend-just-got-a-quality-of-life-update-as-well-as-achievements-and-a-steam-workshop-for-mods/
Long before Heroes of Might & Magic enjoyed a triumphant return to form with Olden Era, we had King's Bounty: The Legend, a strategy-RPG in the classic HoMM mold only with a single gigantic world map rather than discrete levels, and some quirky ideas about courtly marriage. Infamously, this was the game where you could marry a frog or a zombie.
The most recent sequel toned down the whimsy and ended up being much blander for it. Fortunately, you can skip that and go back to where it began with a newly freshened up King's Bounty: The Legend for modern PCs. Now it fully supports widescreen resolutions without those uggo black bars down the side of the screen. The maximum zoom-out distance has been doubled and the UI's been given a readability pass.
It's also got a bunch of modern Steam features like achievements, trading cards, and a points shop. There's a dedicated Steam Workshop too, though at the moment the only mod is one that undoes one of the aforementioned readability changes and restores the Original Fonts.

And because there aren't too many articles, here are also the short ones:

You know things are fucked when a company like Apple can no longer keep their old prices

There may also be some "payback" in this, becaus I'm sure Apple put their suppliers under so much pressure over the years to get the best possible conditions that now that they've lost the advantage, memory makers will try to get even.

The only thing I don't like is the processor, with that APU, but other than that it's an ok PC. It even has dual channel memory, which isn't guaranteed on the Steam Machine.

I also like the 3D printed Steam Machine that an AMD employee has made, tho it's kind of weird that he's gone with a 5060 GPU. Link: https://videocardz.com/newz/valves-steam-machine-gets-an-rtx-5060-diy-rival-made-with-a-3d-printer

@JEMC

Last night I was clicking Add to Cart like there's no tomorrow...when I stopped I ended up at ~400EUR...at that point I asked myself "what's wrong with you, when will you actually play all these games?"...of course, my backlog is already stretching over the horizon...

I've been "trimming the fat" throughout the day...not gonna lie, it will still hurt...

SALES/PLAYER COUNTS & DEALS

Deltarune Chapter 5 launches to nearly 300,000 concurrent players on Steam, Chapter 6 is coming in 2027
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/deltarune-chapter-5-launches-to-nearly-300-000-concurrent-players-on-steam-chapter-6-is-coming-in-2027/
The long-awaited fifth chapter of Deltarune hit Steam like an asteroid yesterday, sending its concurrent player count skyrocketing to nearly 300,000—more than double its previous peak player count—and putting the game amidst the platform's top 10 best-selling games. Despite its age and somewhat irregular release schedule, interest in the game clearly remains high. And for those many of you who are interested in it, the good news is that more is on the way.
"The story is still continuing, and more chapters will be added for free over time," a brief FAQ on the Deltarune Steam page says. "We are aiming for a 2027 release! Meanwhile, we will be periodically releasing information on the development progress of the game."

The Humble Store has launched a lot of sales, many of which will last until the 9th of July. What a coincidence, right?

Fanatical has the new BYO Triple Pack (Summer 2026), with 18 games to choose from for your 3+, 6+ or 9+ bundles. It will last 34 days: https://www.fanatical.com/en/pick-and-mix/build-your-own-triple-pack

Red Dead Redemption 2 Gets a Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom Climbing System
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/red-dead-redemption-2-gets-a-breath-of-the-wild-and-tears-of-the-kingdom-climbing-system/
Now here is a really cool new mod for Red Dead Redemption 2. Created by alejahH, this mod adds a climbing system that is heavily inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
Going into more details, the mod adds a fully customizable climbing system to RDR2, so that the player will now be able to physically climb up every object. As such, you will be able to climb houses, trees, bushes, fences, electrical poles, rails, wagons, and mountains. According to the modder, there is no limit to what you can climb and where you can go. As long as the object is at shoulder height to the player, and they are standing in front of it, they will be able to grab onto it.
While you are climbing, you can freely move around in any direction, even wrapping around corners, and jump in any direction. You can grab onto an object when mid-air after a jump, which will allow you to catch yourself from falling, jumping from tree to tree, or even wall jumps. Once you reach the top, you will then be able to climb up or jump up onto the ledge.
Thanks to this mod, you will be able to explore the game’s environments like never before. If you are a big fan of Zelda: Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom, you will definitely want to try it out.
You can download the mod from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find a video for it. This video showcases its main features, so be sure to watch it.
