He did more testing, and there are a lot of interesting results. In some games tested at 1080p, (Starfield and Warhammer) there was no dropoff at all with the 4060 until you get to the 3600. In other games there were some.
And in Spiderman there's a very strange situation with the 9800X 3D where the B580 gets +35% performance for some reason compared to the CPU tier below it.

The issue seems to come into play when going below a Ryzen 3600 (3000 series). Since the RTX 4060 seems to have a similar dropoff when going from a Ryzen 5600 to a 3600.

But the RTX 4060 being notably better than the B580 on a Ryzen 3600, and in most of the games tested on 5600 (except for Hogwarts) makes me surprised I hadn't heard about this before. Even at 1080p.

Just to be clear, were these tests done with Resizable BAR enabled, or not enabled?

ReBAR was enabled. He says it in the video and it's a mandatory step to do for anyone using an Intel GPU as they perform like crap without it, also shown in the video.

It's a real shame as no one is going to spend $500 on a CPU and then $250 on a GPU for gaming, and that puts the B580 a really bad spot in CPU demanding games. I don't even want to see how it would fare on a game like Civilization or Stellaris with all those background calculations.

I hope Intel find the root and manages to fix it.

I've only just finished the second season of Squid Game, but it looks like I won't have to wait until season three for my next fix of twisted gameshows and gunmen in pink suits, as Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's upcoming collaboration has that covered.

I think it looks better, easier to read.

Are you ready for the bullshit slides tomorrow?

"2-4X faster than 3090 Ti"

Read: in path-traced games with frame generation enabled - all eight of them... (granted, games featuring just DLSS3 are much more common nowadays)

At least the card was properly fast, like 40% or something like that faster. The slides were much, much worse for the "low end" 4060 and 4060Ti.

And we'll find out what is DLSS4 is and if it's backwards compatible or not. .

I know I wouldn't bet my money on DLSS4 being backwards-compatible... It could happen, but I just have no confidence in it due to how Nvidia has treated DLSS improvements so far.

I think there's a slight chance DLSS 4 might work with rtx 4000 series if Nvidias claims of DLSS 3 being exclusive to 4000 series due to hardware limitation is actually legit.

The TOPs of a 3090 for example is 285 TOPs while the TOPs of a 4060 is 242 TOPs. And big daddy 4090 has 1321 TOPs.

So it depends on how much faster Blackwell is compared to Lovelace in TOPs as DLSS is heavily dependent on it. But Nvidia could always make it exclusive cause they are greedy.

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Nvidia? Greedy? Fir st time I've seen those two words together /s

In honesty, the fact that we can't tell what will Nvidia do tells a lot about how they operate.
